I wanted Bernie more than HRC but not enough to vote in the California primary. But you’re exactly right. Bernie’s supporters are taking Bernie’s strong showing against HRC as proof he would have won when in fact it’s proof of how weak HRC was as a candidate.

He lost even though Hillary ran the gentlest campaign possible against him.

Just to back this up because I keep repeating it: if we use Jill Stein’s 2012 vote totals as a baseline and compare them to 2016 and assume that EVERY new Stein voter would have voted for Hillary then Hillary STILL loses the election. The only state Hillary picks up is Michigan.

I can’t estimate the people who didn’t vote. But if it makes you feel better if you compare Stein’s vote totals from 2012 and 2016 and said that every new voter she got in 2016 voted for Hillary she still would have lost the election.
