Here’s my super secret confession: I haven’t watched a second of Broad City yet.

Yeah, I just didn’t get it. I voted for her, and now more than ever I wish she’d won, but I wasn’t enthused.

My friend just turned me on to this app called Countable. It’s like Pandora, but for government. It lets you get in touch with your representatives to protest stuff. You should check it out. We need to be as engaged as possible.

I’m exhausted and didn’t articulate my point. It feels quaint to be arguing about Citizens United and the Koch Brothers and Soros when we’re so fucked.

President Obama got the stimulus through. Not to mention the damage that can be done by executive orders and other measures.

Don’t be ridiculous. I’m way more likely to get sent to a gulag in Alaska.

I was more baffled that they were that excited about Hillary Clinton.

I don’t know. If they’re still on in four years we might.

You’d think after Obama has so much trouble getting anything done that we’d all realize that the President doesn’t have unlimited power.

I’m not suggesting that we throw people with DS into asylums. I have a knee-jerk reaction to some of this stuff. The OBGYN where I work has a coffee table book called, “I’m Down With You” and it’s just this example of the author having a nervous breakdown about the fact they had a child with DS.

George Soros is the boogeyman of the right. He’s their vaguely Jewish nightmare. That’s why I use the Kochs as an example. Because if you ask the people who loathe Soros why the Kochs are acceptable they melt down.

The whole thing felt cruel and wrong to me. Imagine if it had been Brigitte Nielsen instead of Hulk Hogan? Same jeers about appearance and lack of fuckability.

I’m fine with that as long as the government pays when someone is unjustly injured or killed by police.

It think it’s easy to forget just how amazing she was. She was a cultural touchstone for three decades between the Dick Van Dyke Show, the MTM Show, and Ordinary People.

She was a legend and a talent and she will be missed.
