Here in CA a lot of cops know nothing about cars. A red flag for them is anything shiny/colorful under the hood. The only problem with that is there’s this grey area where cops will simply pull you over because they “think” its illegal but its not. They just don’t care. I don’t care about this stance crap but I’ve still had to deal with it with my own cars.
