let me state it again: the Obama years have the lowest growth rate in peacetime ever.

Obama (the pouts responsible for the weakest growth era in peacetime ever)

Bullshit. Most of America is benefitting from "the growth" (thanks Obama).

Yeah, by a few cents, and that's only if the execs are too greedy to take the slightest hit in their profits (which of course they are) This has been proven scientifically.

Hahahaha!!! Oh, you're being serious? This propaganda that unions are bad is ridiculous. Unions exist because individual workers have very limited power when negotiating with large companies. Unionized employees combine so they can negotiate on even footing with their employers.

Unions are like vaccines to the shittiest work conditions, and much like vaccines a certain crowd that thinks of themselves as enlightened doesn't see the use for them because they've reaped the benefits for so long that the benefits are taken for granted.

It's all relative. The amount of fuel they use relative to the amount of cargo they are carrying is a tiny fraction of the amount of fuel your SUV is using to carry you. A train can move one ton of freight 450 miles on a gallon of fuel. Your SUV can move your (what 200 pound) self 20 miles on a gallon of fuel....

Optional catalytic converters? So, you're saying that you want our entire country to look like this?

Re: catalytic converters

What the fuck are wrong with catalytic convertors? Catalytic converters are modern miracles. They DRAMATICALLY reduce the harmful emissions from vehicles (by a huge amount...we're not talking a little thing here...a lot of people underestimate what they do), and do so in a way that is extremely power and fuel

Please let us freely import cars at our own risk! I will gladly pay the taxes, and I will gladly pay to get it altered to meet US lighting standards. I know the cost of importing an taxes will make any such purchase silly, but damnit it's my money. Just stop giving me a bullshit reason for why I can't freely

The US should actually mandate amber turn signals. The center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) that popped up in 1986 is great, and is now too ingrained to eliminate, but the problem it was trying to solve could have been solved with amber signals.

That is rich, indeed! They are also Koyo and Torrington bearings — pretty good brands, yes?

Hey guys! We heard you wanted a car that was practical, affordable, fun to drive, with decent power and great fuel economy. We tried to build you one...but instead we built something that is NONE of those things. We tried to check all the boxes and instead built something that is mediocre in every conceivable way.

Honda's chasing volume, like everyone else and his brother

Like with anything it's a series of trade-offs, cost of repair will scale upwards with complexity, there's no preventing that. The question is whether or not the utility you get justifies it. Electronics in cars allow for more power, better performance, lower emissions and greater safety.

What you're doing is trying

I hadn't previously read about Lincoln putting Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the MKZ for auto journalists.
