absurd over-reaction.

Car companies have had contracts that didn’t specify products before and no one came to these ridiculous conclusions.

Ford is investing $400 million into Flat Rock and $900 million into Chicago and people are freaking out that car production will end? What do you think they’re going to build in

If you look at the amount of money they’re pouring into the factories in question, it is VERY premature to assume they’re moving all car production out of the US. They simply aren’t specifying what will be built where in a few years - that isn’t uncommon in the least, we’ve been there before, and Ford still builds

The fact that the contract may not stipulate continued production of the Fusion and Taurus in their current locations past their current generation / this contract should *NOT* be interpreted as proof that they will move production outside of the US.

Ford is committing to spend $900 million in Chicago and $400 million

#5 - I think that was still better than any of Eddie Murphy’s on-screen appearances since...

Seriously?

The union as a whole voted to approve the contract. The union’s structure allows for a contract with majority approval to be rejected if the skilled trades groups reject the contract for reasons that are relevant to their skilled trade. But if they determine that the trades rejected the contract because they

2nd: And when will Honda pay for their part in this?

You do realize that Chrysler is the only consistently profitable part of FiatChrysler, right? And that it accounts for nearly the entire profit of the entire firm?

Yes, but the US/Canada is the only auto market where FiatChrysler is consistently profitable - They had an operating profit of $1.5 billion in North America in the second quarter - and total profit for the company of $373 million - with a net profit of only $28 million for everything outside of North America.

3rd:

Because defunding the government to a point where it cant do its job is a very effective way for them to show that the government is incapable of doing its job, thus creating an argument for even more cuts and privatization.

Taxiing this thing had to be a bitch.

1) It’s huge
2) You’re close to 30 feet off the ground
3) It looks like you’re 70+ feet in front of the front landing gear.

Nowadays you could just put a camera in by the landing gear and the pilots could even wear a cheap VR headset to feel like they were taxiing a much smaller

I’m not exactly locking up cash - but here’s the catch - putting everything into the stock market is an imprudent investment strategy. You should always choose investments that have a time horizon similar to when you’ll need the money. For me that means some in cash, some in shorter term bonds, and quite a bit in

Meh - I lived in Michigan for ~6 years without them. Even with leather seats, where your tush is uncomfortable when you first sit down, I found them to be comfortable enough pretty quickly without heating.

I find my ass heats the seats pretty quickly. :)

Things like:

Oversized fancy rims
Spoilers
Touchscreen infotainment systems
Navigation systems
DVD players
climate control
Heated seats
satellite radio
“premium” floor mats
Aluminum plates to cover the door sill or trunk opening
Fancy lighting systems
mudflaps that protect plastic parts

Seriously, the base S Ford models are

Nope - 2006. I could buy a 2013, but this was a good price. I’m dumping the Camry, so we’ll have the Mazda and the Ford version of the CD3...

Are we sure they aren’t an American company?

Neutral:

My history:
1997 Ford Taurus GL (loaded) : $18,200
2010 Mazda6 i Sport : $17,800

I’ve never taken out a car loan. I’m dumping the used Camry I inherited from my wife for a used Ford Fusion SEL soon - another cash purchase. I could have bought new, but the used deal was a good one. I’ve got enough saved after this

Anyone who ever bought that line was a sucker...

True - but realistically, the problem is just as much lack of improvement, not just actually getting worse. Chrysler’s products pre and post Mercedes weren’t really any worse - but everyone else got much better. If Fiat pulls the same stunt, look for a Chrysler spinoff and bankruptcy in a few years.

Hey!! Just like Mercedes did to Chrysler! :)

Can we expect Chrysler’s products to go downhill from a serious lack of investment because Fiat is draining all their cash, just like happened when Mercedes owned Chrysler?
