So the base model is now going to run around $130k? So once again Tesla is going to fail miserably in hitting their promised price point?
And people believe the model 3 is going to be anywhere near $35k?

(I’m just giving you a hard time :) )
Not likely. Their current battery price would have to be several times what their target after the gigafactory is built in order for the cost drop to be enough to turn them profitable, and that is without even considering the fact that once the gigafactory is operational, their depreciation costs will be much higher…
Careful... you’ll be labeled a hater for pointing out the truth.
I hope Tesla succeeds, but we shouldn’t be putting lipstick on the overweight pig that is their financial results.
That’s it? I got 39 on a rental recently - peaking at 46 on the highway over an hour long drive.
That calculation was actually one that the government did - Ford used it as the basis for their decision, but it was essentially a government regulation pointing out whether the fix should be done or not.
3rd gear:
It seems to me like cheating on CO2 emissions would be pretty hard to get away with.
I mean, here’s the basic combustion equation:
2C8H18 + 25O2 -> 18H2O + 16CO2
That’s it. If you’re achieving optimal combustion, that’s the amount of CO2 you’re putting out. If you’re suboptimal, you’ll put out less but your fuel…
Kansas City or Cuautitlan, Mexico - none were built in Canada.
After the 1998 facelift, all were built in Kansas City....
That’s what I thought - using greenhouse gas prices makes no sense. We have well-established formulas used for calculating the cost of particulate emissions and NOx emissions from power plants - use those.

This almost always happens. The first locals to vote generally vote the contract down, and are often encouraged to do so. The latter ones are the ones which turn the vote into a yes, and generally by a slim margin. You don’t want to show overwhelming approval even if it is a favorable contract - because you want…
Seriously?
You want to ignore powertrain changes? And you want to ignore the massive number of parts that you can swap between a 1999 Camry and a 2015? (hint: I own a 98 Camry, and many times I get to buy parts that are still shared with 2015s).
Who said they actually care about the employees, and not just trying to pass through the cost of injuries and insurance?
Even forgetting the defective Firestone tires bit, he was a horrid CEO who nearly destroyed the company.
THIS:
When either I show up early for a flight or am making a connection and the airline has another plane going to my destination earlier than the flight I have a ticket on, then the airline wants to charge me a $75 change fee (I’m looking at YOU, American) to even get on standby for the earlier flight.
It REALLY…
Here’s the one difference - the airline staff aren’t being asked to lift the 300 pound guy. They are being asked to lift your 51.2 lb bag.
That’s why there are weight limits on bags - to prevent employee injury.
Not to charge by weight, though... they’re doing it as part of a safety study.
Were some parts carried over? Sure. That happens with most vehicles on a redesign. Take a look at the Toyota Camry’s redesigns - quite a bit remains unchanged with each generation, but we don’t say they haven’t been redesigned in decades, do we?
Try walking.
These road closures are mostly nowhere near either the starting or ending locations for these flights - so you’re hopping most of the time over streets that are open. They’ll be crowded, but walking isn’t that hard.
Even taking the subway, while not a direct path across manhattan, would likely be faster…
Ummm... new Super Dutys were released for the 2008 model year and the 2011 model year. What’s this “The last time a new Ford Super Duty design was released, engineers were freaking out about losing their work to Y2K” all about?
Agreed. Which unfortunately means idiots will likely buy into that look.
