That’s what I thought - using greenhouse gas prices makes no sense. We have well-established formulas used for calculating the cost of particulate emissions and NOx emissions from power plants - use those.

4th:

This almost always happens. The first locals to vote generally vote the contract down, and are often encouraged to do so. The latter ones are the ones which turn the vote into a yes, and generally by a slim margin. You don’t want to show overwhelming approval even if it is a favorable contract - because you want

Seriously?

You want to ignore powertrain changes? And you want to ignore the massive number of parts that you can swap between a 1999 Camry and a 2015? (hint: I own a 98 Camry, and many times I get to buy parts that are still shared with 2015s).

Who said they actually care about the employees, and not just trying to pass through the cost of injuries and insurance?

Even forgetting the defective Firestone tires bit, he was a horrid CEO who nearly destroyed the company.

THIS:

When either I show up early for a flight or am making a connection and the airline has another plane going to my destination earlier than the flight I have a ticket on, then the airline wants to charge me a $75 change fee (I’m looking at YOU, American) to even get on standby for the earlier flight.

It REALLY

Here’s the one difference - the airline staff aren’t being asked to lift the 300 pound guy. They are being asked to lift your 51.2 lb bag.

That’s why there are weight limits on bags - to prevent employee injury.

Not to charge by weight, though... they’re doing it as part of a safety study.

Were some parts carried over? Sure. That happens with most vehicles on a redesign. Take a look at the Toyota Camry’s redesigns - quite a bit remains unchanged with each generation, but we don’t say they haven’t been redesigned in decades, do we?

Try walking.

These road closures are mostly nowhere near either the starting or ending locations for these flights - so you’re hopping most of the time over streets that are open. They’ll be crowded, but walking isn’t that hard.

Even taking the subway, while not a direct path across manhattan, would likely be faster

Ummm... new Super Dutys were released for the 2008 model year and the 2011 model year. What’s this “The last time a new Ford Super Duty design was released, engineers were freaking out about losing their work to Y2K” all about?

Agreed. Which unfortunately means idiots will likely buy into that look.

Long hauls you get multiple options - vending machine grade is still one, but they also offer dining car services - and their food there is generally very good and you can go high end...

Or that completing one of those segments can be a joyful, highly rewarding experience. :)

Have you ever gone any distance on Amtrak?

It may be a metal tube - but you have oodles of room around your seat compared to air, bus, or car. And you can get up and move around the train at will. The views are tremendous and you essentially have lounges and a restaurant that travel with you.

This can be a VERY relaxing

That’s not likely to happen anytime soon.

Why? Because of demand cycles. What company is going to put up the capital to make that vision a reality during rush hour?

The PC version would be:

*Performance highly variable based on driver

(because complaints on PC stability are largely the result of poor system administration)

*falsely thought to be immune to hacking and viruses

There, I fixed it for you.

What will the Apple car be?

Twice as expensive as any other competing car on the market
Restricts you to buying gas from Apple gas stations
Crashes frequently but fans insist it never does
Will no longer receive support from Apple after 3 years - if anything goes wrong, they expect you to just buy another.

Right - by retooling two factories, they actually cost themselves a lot of money. They can get savings in logistics if, for example, they produced small vehicle powertrains in Mexico and large truck ones in Michigan. These savings aren’t insignificant, but neither is the cost of swapping the plants. Remember the
