He had it in there - as long as you understand that 1&2 are the same button, as are 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9&0. So in reality, 0001 and 0002 are the same entries. So for each digit position, you have 5 choices of buttons to hit. So it is 5x5x5x5 = 625 possible combinations. If all 10 digits were separate options, you would

Dead batteries are very rarely totally dead. Normally a dead battery just doesn’t have the power to crank over an engine. Running a small bit of electronics is another matter entirely. The power draw of a system like this is likely in the 0-2W range (guessing, but hey, a Raspberry Pi uses under 2W and is more powerful

Does anyone else sense a serious channeling of Dave Barry’s writing style here?

And below the window decal of Calvin peeing on a Chevy logo.

Why do you believe you know more about their opportunities than they do. Have you considered that they might be running production as fast as they can without suffering drops in quality that will hurt them long term? Or that making $10k in profit for each truck of 750,000 sold might be worth more than $5k in profit

Ack! Who pays 6% interest?

The previous gen Mazda6 was lacking in design? Most reviewers disagree with you and consider it to have been one of the best looking in its class:

Of course. But the scale is much different. As bad as our politicians are, theirs are much, much worse. And it isn’t like they’re hauling around a giant command infrastructure and press corps like we are.

Last time I bought a car, not only was CarMax not the cheapest ($18,200 for a 1 year old Mazda6 iSport that could be bought with identical equipment, color, and almost identical miles elsewhere for $15,500 without negotiating), but they were also more expensive than the USAA price through TrueCar for the same vehicle

Only problem is that the price of this Model X (if they EVER get it into production) is supposed to be just as high as the Model S.

Realistically, this also is a sign of why Yemen has never had a well functioning government - they have no business using a 747, even a used one with little resale value, as a presidential aircraft. You have politicians sitting high on the hog while their entire country rots, and they wonder why they can’t stay stable?

New roadster.

Sure.

They still can’t get the Model X out the door, and they’re going to add two more vehicles soon after? And the Model S will be due for a refresh, too. I’ll believe this when I see it.

Is it true? I can’t say for certain, but think about this - that rim is designed to take at least 1/4 of the vehicle’s max weight. In some cars, even more - think of a FWD sedan with a 60/40 weight distribution - that rim now has to hold at least half of the higher distribution - so 30% of the vehicles’ max weight.

I don’t get why people don’t follow this one... while they aren’t the greatest, you can get pretty accurate torque wrenches from Harbor Freight for $20 - sometimes as low as $10 on sale. Torque wrenches are almost a necessity for most any car repair, so spend the little bit of money and do it right - doing it wrong

Cinder blocks always got me. Why on earth use a (mostly hollow) brittle material? Jackstands aren’t that expensive. The only thing I’ve ever used in place of jackstands was wood. Thick, *broad* pieces of lumber placed with the grain perpendicular to the point where it will support the vehicle can work reasonably well.

Whoever was loading this was neglecting their job, pure and simple. The cargo door at the front doesn’t cause this - loading improperly does. You have to have a plan on how to load/unload. The door in the front just changes the order in which you have to do it from one where the door is in the back...

My approach:

1) Jack stands in pairs (NEVER on just one side of the car), on level dry concrete
2) Floor jack under the car with it snug (but not lifting) against the bottom of the jack point
3) Tires (if off) on the ground behind the jackstands.
4) Chocks on the other tires
5) Don’t get under the car under any

So there are two Lamborghini dealers in Texas, and they’re allowed to sell to anyone in the state. Tesla has three service centers, three (soon to be four) gallerias to show off their product, 5 (soon to be 6) supercharger locations, and dozens of publicly available chargers across the state, and they can’t sell?

Came here to do this. Wasn’t disappointed.

IIRC, Sony set anything except the PS3 to run through their proxy servers for Netflix - which absolutely killed streaming on them, since Sony never bothered to upgrade their servers to match demand.
