Living in an area where these cars would become dangerously rusted out within a few years at most (seriously, a close friend had a mechanic refuse to put one on a lift when it was just three years old because the rust holes were so bad they didn't feel it would be safe), I must say this looks like it is in phenomenal

Low skill? I guess you haven't seen the inside of a plant lately to see what most positions are like...

That 20% target is ROIC or Return On Invested Capital, and is a measure of how productively a company is using its cash.

Except for the problem that most drivers around here don't seem to have half a clue what a yield sign means... :)

Nice try, automakers, nice try.

How about we allow lane-splitting, but reduce the speed differential to 5 mph (10 is too high), and attach a penalty - if you lanesplit, you are accepting responsibility for damage with a penalty. If you're going as high as 10 mph over congested traffic, a driver can check their mirrors and you still appear in their

Looks like I got kinja'd earlier.

But you'll find the Odyssey a bit more posh, but the TC Wagon a bit more creative and unique - and a good $4-$6k cheaper relatively comparably equipped.

I've never heard of an Odyssey of that age that wasn't in for its second transmission replacement by 100,000 miles. One every 100k is very, very bad. 2 is godawful.

That is most unfortunate - they could put it on any vehicle that shared designs between Europe and the US where it was a feature offered in Europe.

OTOH, I understand their predicament. To put it on as an option on the Focus, they would have to develop the supply chain for that windshield to get it to Wayne, MI.

How on EARTH did you miss talking about this feature?!?!?!?

This was what so many people were demanding for future features just a few days ago - a front windshield that clears itself of snow and ice - There's actually a heating element embedded in the windshield to do this in a ridiculously short period of time.

Actually, it is that cheap - because Ford is inflating the MSRP. Most trim lines are readily available with $4-5k discounts off of MSRP through TrueCar.

I'd be lying if I said that it was on par with the Odyssey for being "posh".

But that isn't the point.

You want rear seat entertainment? No, there is no option - except for buy a tablet. Heck, buy one for every seat. You'll still save money, upgrading will be a snap, and they're useful outside the vehicle as well.

I've actually shopped these - and if anyone does, you need to know how ridiculous the pricing is. Ignore the MSRP - it means NOTHING.

Other states have recently lost out to Mexico on getting new auto factories, and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said in an interview on Thursday that those developments “woke the whole Southeast up.” Declining to comment specifically on the Daimler plant because details of the move aren’t public, she said South

There are lots of potential issues:

1) The manufacturer could get into the insurance business, selling you a policy, since your driving habits would no longer be an issue.

2) The insurer currently has some pricing power as they can blend groups of people into risk pools and the ability to do this and charge

My rules:

1) Figure out what needs to be done, if possible. Sometimes I don't have the necessary diagnostic equipment, and acquiring it would be cost-prohibitive. Other times, it is obvious.

2) If #1 tells me I have to get under the car, call the mechanic and take it in. My life isn't worth the risk involved in

(the car was being professionally torture tested - the owners knew exactly what they were doing)

4th Gear: China Wants Internet Companies In The Electric Car Business

Global car companies need global leaders, and it's refreshing to see Toyota acknowledge this fact in their latest round of executive appointments.

What's going on? They can't build them fast enough, which is a better problem than the opposite but is still a problem.
