The Chevy Bolt is supposed to compete with the Tesla Model S which has an average transaction price well more than twice of what the Bolt is being promised at? Seriously?

Are you willing to take a wager on the Tesla's cost? First off, Tesla hasn't exactly promised the $35k mark. They say half the price of a Model S, but don't specify which trim line. Tesla also has a long habit of talking prices after federal credits are rolled in. Therefore, most projections actually have the…
I get peeved when I get a misprint on a small 1-2g part that means no more than a nickel in lost material and an hour in lost time (mostly bed adhesion issues, I've never had a problem with jumps or skips or anything else). I don't even want to think about a misprint on that scale.
My 10" x 10" x 10" would take forever, even at 200 micron layer resolution. And that's assuming no misprints. And assuming you thought supergluing bits together would be ok. :)
That's a far cry from the 50 micron layer resolution of my printer...
I wish Ohio had one, but there's no chance with the lunatics we have in charge in this state. If they had put one in place, perhaps I could have found a 2014 Focus EV in stock a couple months ago when they came all the way down to $16,500 plus sales tax after rebates and discounts. In Georgia, they had them in stock…
And the plastic filament would have run about $550, assuming no misprints or use of rafts, mouseears, or brims during his production.
Nope - MSRP of them is now $35,170 including destination. Through TrueCar and my insurance co, the prenegotiated price is $31,083 for a 2015. Then you get $7,500 off of that for federal tax credits, bringing the price to $23,583. 2014s are a couple hundred less, just a hair over $23k.
(note: if your state has tax…
Reminds me of stories from when the last GT came out - the first ones didn't have radios, and when asked about it, Ford's response was something to the effect of "we don't believe you should ever be taking your hands off the wheel"....
The Chevy Volt offered GM a chance to show it was capable of quickly producing a car that was radically different than any car they'd made before. It wasn't a hit. With low EV-only range and a high price, what exactly was the reason to buy it? The 2016 Chevy Volt seems like a better deal.
Mary Barra herself came out and proudly announced some hopes and one bit of miselading information: the Bolt should have a range of 200 miles (hopeful, but certainly possible) and will only cost $30,000 (well, after government rebates and incentives, so it's not really $30,000.)
Jalopnik just got a shout out from Marketplace on our local NPR station for this story....
Of course patents last longer than a decade... and have many technologies and patents spun off from them. Could it be worked around? Sure. But Ford would make FCA pay dearly.
You might not get used to it for quite awhile. I had a Taurus for 14 years, and 4 years after selling it, I still occasionally try to rip the windshield wiper stalk off the column of my pos Camry to try to get it to shift.
2.1% means more than you think when it makes you the fourth largest shareholder - and by far the largest non-financial shareholder. In other words, no single player has a larger voice than Ford at Mazda's board, as the banks all represent groups of people, not a single player.
And you clearly have never seen the…
That leaves the Japanese and the two frontrunners are Mazda and Suzuki. Given Mitsubishi's partnership with Nissan Renault and Suzuki's work with Toyota it seems like Mazda is the obvious choice. Will they go with the obvious choice? There are too many factors to say for sure, but it does add interesting context to…
Can I get the Denver Broncos?
When does he plan on being honest and focusing on GAAP accounting methods?
What a horrid car. It is telling that I can EASILY and comfortably fit behind the wheel of a Mazda 2 and there is no way I can fit behind the wheel of a Corolla.
Check out yahoo finance.... I should buy stock in Alcoa based on the aluminum consumption that I think must be associated with that site alone...
