There is absolutely NOTHING spectacular about a first gen Pinto... :P
Not sure if the second video was a roll or not, but the trap time indicates it might have been. I stand corrected AND mistaken. :P
Man, the bike launched late AND from a dig? Make it a low roll and the bike would be so much faster.
It’s on throttle/off throttle lag that is my biggest grip with them. But yes, they’re getting much better.
Also, most importantly: if turbo cars were as good to race, Porsche wouldn’t make the GT3 RS their track halo car instead of the Turbo. Or they would have added a turbo to it.
MK4 VR6’s and R32’s are still some of the best sounding engines IMO. A few good friends of mine have them and they’re great sounding and reliable (if not very fast) machines.
I had an old school BMW with an old school turbo 6. More lag than you’d believe on that old KKK K27 turbo.
In a straight line with the gas pedal depressed for a quick jaunt, turbos are great. In a track environment where there is PLENTY of off/on throttle, they suck. Try out your car at an Auto X event or a really tight racetrack (ie, karting track) and you’ll immediately see what I’m talking about. My mother’s 6 is a…
I’ve owned an old BMW E21 with an old BMW 3.3 liter turbo 6 in it, the 745i motor. I know what “old” turbo lag is.
It’s not all about power. I have an Audi S3. My mother has a Golf 6 GTI. Both suffer from shitty throttle response and lag. The whole “full torque at ~2500rpms” gimmick is utter bullshit. It’ll do it loaded in a high gear going uphill, sure. It will not do it anywhere else.
E34 540i and E34 M5 were extremely similar in performance. The E39 540i and the E39 M5 have over a 100 quoted horsepower between them, as well as nearly 100lb/ft. They are NOT similar performance.
Dammit.

No offense, what's more incredibly stupid is A: staying with her after she lent your van to her drug dealer, and B: actually helping her get the car back.
Lamborghini used the same V12 from the Countach all the way through the Murcielago LP-670. BMW’s M60 V8 was evolved into the M62, which evolved into an N62. Most manufacturers do this. The VQ is a tried and proved platform for an engine, and has been greatly enhanced since its debut. Drive a pre HR 350Z and an HR 350Z…
Hey Tavarish, big fan.
I'd consider it if it was swapped to manual. Then at least you're paying for a decent, rare driveline to use in another awesome project. Or at least to use on another 750iL that hasn't been this bastardized.
Ahem. "Moot point" means something is open for discussion, as shown here: "open to discussion or debate; debatable; doubtful: a moot point." (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/moot)
