In Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, which are both basically at sea level, temps regularly hit over 50c (122F). Sometimes they see 60C (140F), like a few towns in Iraq saw last month. Fun fact, as it is illegal to work in over 50C, the government/municipality owned public thermometers are all capped at 50C. :D

I agree with the policy of separating politics from sports.

On a modern car? If applicable, the better headlights. So for example, if a base E92 has halogens but you can spec it with better lighting, then that. Huge deal for me who lives somewhere where this isn’t electricity 24/7 and my daily commute is a 10 mile stretch of windy mountain roads. If that wasn’t an issue, I’d

I’m 6"7 and have been taking boxing/kickboxing for a long time. In our boxing class, the people I’m most worried about fighting are usually the wiry mofos with veins everywhere and no muscle mass to speak of. They somehow bounce backwards when I connect solid body hits, and usually pack a good punch.

Nice! We had the regular non wagon version and when Dad sold it it had done 150,000 miles. It was a 4 matic and the transfer case started whining around that point. Fixed it and sold it.

I’ve been in several W212 E class Mercs in Germany that had crossed 250,000 miles (when still a current model, they weren’t “old”). Being a car guy I’d ask the owner/driver about maintenance and most of them would tell me just regular consumables.

I’ve read so many older sci-fi books that mentioned Skyhooks/elevators/etc that worked along the same principle. Blew me away as a kid, and happy as an adult they were rooted in truth.

Man, there are so many. I think the rudest thing I do is toggle my rear LED bar when someone is behind me (with no intention to overtake) with his highbeams so far up my ass they’re given me a LASIC operation.

I’m of the opinion that the WEAKER the car, the more gears I want. My 2016 Swift 1.6 has a 4 speed auto. 2nd gear tops out over 60mph, 3rd over 100mph. It makes for a very slow/lazy experience, and it’s such a letdown considering the chassis is fantastic. It’s fast enough with only ~96 horsepower because it weighs

I had a manual 300E-24V. The stock shifter mechanism is clunky, yes, but no worse than most things of that era. Few fresh bushings and a slightly shorter shifter and it’s just as good as my E34 535i’s.

It’s still on it’s stock SMG and with 0 issues, just to clarify.

See, this one is less about the tranny and more about how you drive it. I have a very good buddy of mine running a 2003 M3 SMG daily + track duty. Never had an issue with the SMG, but he services it. He’s anal about maintenance on that car. It wins races, after all!
But according to him, driving it in full manual mode

To be fair... the 850 isn’t that expensive to maintain. Some parts are E31 specific and hard to come by, sure... but it was a limited GT.

That would be great. Excess supply would mean it would get even cheaper here where I live!

Good sir, EV’s are widely available here. Especially the uber cheap Chinese ones you guys don’t get. We probably have a LOT more variety for EV’s in the Middle East than you do... Along with a lot more cars. Like Renault, Peugeot, Dacia, etc...

I agree but also want to point out this is primarily an American thing. Every time I travel to a European city, I end up walking 10 miles a day and never using a car unless it’s late and I want to get home quick. And when that happens, it costs a metric ****ton.

EV’s are so sensationalized and politicized at this point you’ll get canceled for saying they’re not better for the environment than fossil fuel cars.
One of my cars for traffic and city use is a 2016 Suzuki Swift. It’s a 1.4 automatic that’s punchy enough to get me home (mountains) and yet returns over 33mpg. For

This. This was/is my favorite road car driving game I’ve ever played. Nothing, physics wise, has ever come close for me until BeamNg came along.

FWIW, bucket seats fix most problems for taller people. I’m 6"7, decently built. I daily’d and raced a Miata NC for a while. Couldn’t close the roof without it hitting my head on the stock seat, had enough room to close it with a helmet and an inch to spare with my Kirkey in it. Obviously mounted straight to the floor

I have a 2018 JK with the typical goodies (ARB lockers F/R, shorter gearing, 33" tires). It handles snow like a champ. What I don’t like about it is how little traction it has in the wet/when you don’t want it to slide. I can quickly move the steering wheel halfway in each direction on a wet (not snow) surface and the
