You're.*
Hahahahahahaha love it.
I think it's because much like BMW's excellent M60 and M62, going anywhere past ~320hp is expensive. Little off the shelf aftermarket (but plenty of project cars. Not the ideal solution for most gearheads).
I agree on the Audi, Lambo, and Dodge... But the E60 M5? That lovely, raucous, noisy motor? Shame on you. Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.
Also, on a related note... Imad Mughniyeh's son was killed by an Israeli airstrike a few weeks ago in the Golan Heights, which is also territory Israel has occupied from Syria...
Awesome cowboy and inflammatory journalism. "Terrorist overlord".
Those wheels, if authentic, are M-Parallels. One of the best wheels to put on any E34, E39, E31, and E38. His choice of color cheapens them. They're beautiful wheels otherwise.
Agreed!
It takes a bundle of power to go from 182 to 200+. The difference in power between 2 identical cars that run one second between each other at the quarter mile is much larger than you think, especially if the slow one is already "quick"; A 9 second car is MUCH faster than a 10 second car. 18mph is no little number,…
15-20 grand worth of swaparoos, mind you. Cost of car excluded. And prooooooooobably cost of the ///M drivetrain. :P
Since they sold E60 wagons there, and sold M5 sedans, just build yourself a clone. Buy the M5 drivetrain and fit it to an unassuming (preferably V8 due to drivetrain) E60 wagon.
My old 98 NA 5.2 V8 on my Grand Cherokee is lucky to get 12mpg. A new 4.4 TT X5 can double that. And it weighs a ton more. And makes double the power. Turbo engines are extremely efficient, and I've never seen any real world evidence to dispute that claim.
I've never met you, least of all had a conversation with you. And yet, the first thing I thought of when I saw this headline was you.
I agree with most of those.
That V12 is one of the most reliable engines Mercedes ever made. The wiring loom past a certain year, however, was degradable. It will need replacing eventually.
I've always noticed this during highway pulls. My friend's Gen5 Camaro SS, even with over 550 horsepower, starts falling flat past ~240 kph. An E60 M5 with less power catches him up and starts walking him past that speed.
Here's mine! 1991 850i 6 speed. Only 55,000 miles!
I have a 91 850i/6. 200cm (6'6) and I fit fine. Go and buy one! :)
E39 M5, good sir. E60 will work, but preferably E39.
