@jinlee: Win. It's probably not glass. It's probably plexiglass for that exact reason.

@Full_Moto_Jacket: Yea, but that's on a fixed structure and not as high as a balloon could go. I'm sure dangling by a few ropes way higher is much scarier.

@Meh: In the context of video files? There is no use for RAR files. That's what this rant is about. But in the conext of text files or other files that are not natively compressed, a RAR file will be much smaller even though the rar file itself does add a small amount of size for header information.

Yea, the robot colored one was bad. That one looked like a failed lego experiment. But these new colors aren't bad. I'm not big on the bright pink, purple, or lime green, but then again, I'm a guy. I'd go for any of the other colors. It's good to see someone finally making a body that isn't black. The world needs a

@Helvetica: I agree with most of your points, but I disagree with the one about confusion. I do agree that not everyone who has an iPhone is computer literate or capable of understanding the functionality change of the button. The bar has to be set pretty low. However, in the revision of this app, they took out that

@crazypills77: There's plenty of different ways to comfortably hold the phone and press the volume button without being double jointed. Just hold it in a "natural" grip and you can hit it with your index finger (right handed) or with your thumb (left handled). It's much easier than tapping the screen.

@analogfilter: Oh they will come and get you. Just ask Jason Chen. :)

Apple, thank you from protecting me from this. I have no idea what I would do if a button had multiple functions. I'm still stuck on using the home button. It does different things depending on what screen I'm on! Sometimes it takes be back to my main page, sometimes it opens some weird menu at the bottom if i press

@Robert C Starkey: With Apple, you get a 2-slot charger and 6 batteries for $29.99. From Amazon, you can get a 4-slot charger and 4 batteries for $18.09. For an additional $10.45, you can get 4 more batteries, making the sanyo purchase on Amazon a no brainer. Unless you feel that you need a product (indirectly) from

"it might actually be better getting some Eneloops from Amazon, where they're cheaper." You've hit the nail on the head. The same could be said for many Apple products. I'm not going to rag on apple for simply repackaging another product under their label; It's a very common practice. But now knowing exactly which

It's built on an external frame backback frame. That's terribly uncomfortable. They need to upgrade to a better frame for me to adopt this as part of my everyday flair. I love it. :)

@FeodoraChautauqua: I didn't say I never read. I do plenty of reading daily online and the occasional newspaper or magazine. From time to time I'll find a book that interests me, but I find most fiction books uninteresting. The books I do read are often non-fiction, but I simply don't have enough time to engage in a

@bojangles103: Nothing can escape the influence of the cheetos...

Very interesting. I don't typically have an interest in reading books, but this one sounds like it might be worth the time.

@MazdaMania: Any additional code that has to run will add more time to startup and potentially to execution. I don't think one or two extensions will hurt you, but if you go crazy with them, expect to be on par with vanilla IE benchmarks... :)

If only I had known about the adblock extension while giz had the cheetos ads... Great article! Thanks!

@tw@t: this. :)

This article is hilarious. I love arbitrary statistics that imply correlations that don't actually exist.

@tyrannotaur: I agree, but lawsuits are a waste of everyone's time. This is much more appropriate.

Super cute for sure. I hope she finds a good job soon.
