No buttons on the BRZ/FR-S steering wheel for the first four years (pre-2017 facelift). And that’s the way it should have remained.

Agreed. General consensus seems to be that the new one looks better, but to me it just looks more generic. The old design wasn’t perfect, but I still prefer the design of my ‘16 BRZ to most other iterations. Cutting the fender humps was a mistake.

A new Camry would likely beat a ten year old Cayman.

No way. The difference in weight would kill the Camry in corners and under braking. The BRZ at 2800lbs has the same size front brakes as the Camry at at least 3200lbs. The base Camry weights 420 lbs more than the BRZ. The V6 even more. The Camry has no LSD so coming out of a corner the inside wheel would simply spin

The Camry is basically a rocket ship today compared to the dented, beige turd that springs to mind when we hear “Camry.” I mean, it hits 60 in ~5 sec. Does that mean a GTI, Veloster N and WRX are slow turds? Or is the more expensive Camry pretty quick, and that’s fine?

The S2000 is really raw by modern standards.

You need to re-consider your life choices, this is absolutely a must have car if you consider yourself an enthusiast. I own a previous gen Scion FRS, and I live it, and I am 100% thinking about grabbing one of these as my 4th car because it looks amazing. And my partner owns a much faster car than either of these, but

And that point is flawed. Performance isn’t only about straight-line speed. So what if a Camry can beat it in a straight line? My Miata would lose to a V6 Camry in a drag race, but I’d much rather drive the Miata because it’s a lot more fun. The BRZ and GR-86 aren’t meant for winning spec sheet wars. They’re made for

Thanks for sharing that - this is a vastly bigger improvement than a number in a brochure. People who fawn over HP figures generally seem to ignore the fact that cars tuned for max HP on a dyno often have terrible driving dynamics on the street. A good tune is about balance more than it is about peak HP numbers.

FWIW it is better.

Thats exactly how Toyota described it. I think they are trying to portray the Track mode as more than it is when it really just seems to be what you see above.

It has three modes: Normal, Sport, and Track, and the screen can display things like gear position and engine speed when in track mode.”

That’s an ugly steering wheel.

I’m almost 40 and married and will absolutely consider this as my next car. But whatevs.

Mazda isn’t going to add a bunch of weight and cost to the Miata when it’s currently just as quick as this will be anyway.

As an FRS owner I’m obviously biased, but I think they made a minor change for the worse when the car lost the fender humps over the front wheels. The profile looks like two slightly different cars got combined and now the front doesn’t really flow into the back as nicely.

Listen buddy if I can’t show off a meaningless number on a spreadsheet then it’s not a real sportscar. Driving enjoyment? Real sportscars are for one-upping people at C&C.

And people will still be bitching about the lack of power. Not every sports car has to be a freaking drag racer.

This. These articles pop up literally once every 3 months because Tesla basically only makes three deliveries to Norway each year, and it’s not enough for demand. You can search and find the exact same article for basically every major EV, including the Etron, the Polestar, and the id3. I guess as long as we all click

Wasn’t this always Elon’s goal? I’m pretty sure he said from the outset that he didn’t want Tesla to be the only EV in town, that he wanted to force major manufacturers to compete with him. It seems he was successful.
