They need to bring pimp my ride back as “prank my ride”. Have a friend with a $3000 beater? Let’s steal their car and give them a really nice rental for two weeks while they spend 10k to make their beater completely ridiculous and useless. So that 98 Corolla that barely runs still barley runs but now is shaped like a

Obligatory ...

So in my analogy, it would basically be like if they put this

Well, it can’t actually scan as the torus, which has the actual emitter and detector, is missing. So this was just the moving platform/bed to recreate the experience of having a CT scan. Which further begs the question, because no one I’ve ever met has been excited to lay down in a CT scanner.

Im a fan of this one.

I read that as “Thot Finder” at first...

Remember the “Tot Finder” stickers people used to put on children’s bedroom windows, so the fire department could find kids?

This is still my favorite:

“Save your money and get a convertible 720 instead.”

Had to double check I was on Jalopnik and not Earther.

Yep (minus the e is also acceptable, as in the title of the USA Network show). As in “psych out”, fooled you, etc.

I don’t usually write articles critical of the authors here because I’m sure you have unique pressures, but considering almost all of the interior photos are from Jaguar did they even let you sit in the car? This isn’t...anything. Not a review, not a first drive. It approaches a lecture with your diatribe about

Just go read some of Mercedes Streeter’s work. Thorough, insightful, analysis of new cars. Even when we’re talking about a ‘First Drive’ article. Her review of the VW Taos - an SUV of all things - was consummately professional.

So um...how is it? How does it drive, how does the tech work, how do the seats feel? How does it compare to previous iterations of the XF, how does it *actually* compare to its competitors? FFS this has to be the most vapid, pointless review I’ve read. Did you just find someone’s XF in a parking lot to take a few pics

You could literally replace every mention of “Jaguar” in this article with “Jalopnik”

So, not cheating, but piracy. That’s much better.

Less about cheating, more about piracy

i think this ridiculous pearl-clutching attitude is unique to gaming, but i might be wrong and i’d love other examples. why in the WORLD would you not only not expect, but be furious when they respond litigiously, a company to protect their IP?

The issue here is entirely that this was not "modding", it was hacking the alpha so you didn't have to have legit access

“My tool, D2ROffline, was originally designed to just bypass integrity checks that are part of the anti-cheating to prevent patching the client,” Belgian programmer Ferib Hellscream”
