I’m still bummed that kinect and tv integration got dropped. It’s sweet that my xbox turns my tv on and off, and can handle muting and everything with voice - my xbox honestly is my entertainment center piece. Unfortunately my launch kinect is starting to fail.

I’ve had excellent luck with 1Password, and with their support.

Good on them! I enjoyed the game.. well enough. Flying and combat was a LOT of fun but it didn’t grab me much. I haven’t picked it up since shortly after it game out - hopefully this revamp will breathe some life in to it! I’m interested to see where the story goes.

This isn’t a mistake though. This isn’t like “Oh hey, some of those download codes didn’t work. We’ll fix it”. Read more

You don’t have to trick or cheat someone to be anti-consumer. Apple’s repair ecosystem is anti-consumer but it’s not tricking anyone. Read more

I agree - but I mean, everyone working for them wants to get paid. I don’t think making money is inherently wrong but it is somewhat amusing that people seem to think Nintendo is altruistic in their motivations.

That’s just disingenuous. 1 person does not a backlash make. You know if EA did the same thing the articles written about it would be less “*Shrug* - maybe they’ll release a partial fix for it”.

A game that forces you to buy an entirely new console if you want multiple people to be able to play it on their own is objectively anti-consumer. It would be if any other publisher did it too. Nintendo shouldn’t get a free pass just because people liked Mario growing up - they exist to make money the same as every Read more

One must not speak ill of Nintendo. Now, if EA did the exact same thing? There would be hell to pay.

It’s also not 1996 anymore. Trapping your game on to a physical console in 2020 is completely absurd and any other publisher or console maker would be screamed about for months until they changed it.

The switch is a portable console. Portable things get broken more often. Trapping your game that you may have spent hundreds of hours in on the physical console in 2020 is completely absurd and any other publisher or console maker that did it would be roasted over an open flame.

I think Nintendo gets away with a lot that other other publishers or console makers would get rightly castigated for.

I know that the US government, due to heavy influencing from the Tax prep lobby, has made things needlessly complicated and horrible but is your SSN really the only thing that identifies who you are to the IRS? Seriously? At least for the CRA (Canadian version of the IRS) you have to have details about the previous Read more

I had the same confusion regarding installing it. But I clicked install on Farcry 5, and it “installed” in under a second and I could play it (and I don’t have it on this machine). The interface and FAQ could be a little more clear on how that works. Also, it’d be nice if I could pick what store front I’m adding a Read more

If this works well - it’ll be a hard sell to drop $1000 on the latest greatest graphics card if you can get all the new tech for $5/month. Especially when you own the games outside of the service.

This is to solve 2 different needs. The first, this is for people who don’t want to keep upgrading a PC gaming rig, but still want to play their PC games and even new ones at (allegedly) higher quality, ray tracing, etc. Read more
