I would say Joe Crede is not a failure. His overall career is not good, but he had a really good peak that also coincided with a World Series win. Also a lot of Crede career badness can be attributed to his back issue, and not a lack of talent.

On the one hand, he sucked overall. On the other, he had a 6.5 WAR in ‘05-’06 and helped them win the WS, so I could go either way on that.
