Because if you allow illegal servers to run then its an excuse for others to do it on a one patch ago server. There are lots of things that are illegal but dont “hurt anyone” I guess house squatting is just ok too.

private servers aren’t legal. You don’t own the game if you buy a few cd’s and a subscription. All the fine print states how you aren’t allowed to do this as well
