The average day of uber drives maybe 150 miles max, they got more than enough time to charge at home/uber’s chargers that they’re planning...

This is the third time we’ve used 1 way rental to go to the airport actually.

I live in alabama and most of our electricity is from coal, natural gas, and gasoline/diesel fuel”

I don’t have an EV, but there’s a cost associated with maintaining the automobile gas infrastructure and transporting physically heavy non-reusable gas. Electric motors are 85+% efficient, consumer gasoline engines are at best 40%. So for you to use your 16 gallons of gas, more energy is burned refining it, moving it

I love how people say things like “there are still the dirty parts about EV’s no one wants to talk about” when literally every article and comment thread about EVs is chock full of misinformation about how batteries can’t be recycled (they can), or how lithium and rare earth mining is uniquely harmful (it isn’t), or

This is awesome.  I whole-heartedly support these ads.

The irony of an Xbox exec bragging about releasing games.

thanks. most people forget the hidden costs of having to replace their local bridges when purchasing an electric car.

Former Civil Engineer here. One semi truck does the damage of 10,000 passenger cars. If you eliminated trucks from a stretch of US interstate highway, you’d reduce the required concrete pavement thickness from 9-10 inches to 5 inches. You’d also extend the pavement life from 20 years to 50 years.

So I’m not too worried

It’s the reason I told the dealership to take off their branding from my car as I was driving it off the lot. Unless we’re in some sort of media partnership where you pay me to advertise, no thanks.

Taxes, health insurance, lifetime judicial appointments, military policing... we do lots of things in incredibly weird (also evil, profit mongering, usually racist) ways!

Hey, is that headline photo of the Multipla from Wassenaar in NL? And, uhhhh... did you borrow it from me? I need to check the tag number, but I’m about 90% positive that’s a photo that I took and sent to a buddy (I send him shots of all sorts of cool cars I see here that he can’t get).

nifty, but my favorite Japanese pastiche remains the old Dream Factory Blow 69 Suburban based on a Suzuki Wagon R

Show us where the bad VW touched you.

Mini had been its own marquee

Fun is subjective. I had a blast. Made me want to play Souls.

If you find it to be a frustratingly difficult slog then the game isn’t for you. A lot of people do not find them frustrating or difficult, or find the difficulty to be a positive rather than a negative. Games are meant to be fun, if you’re not having fun, then why play?

I went from 19 mpg to 12mpg (37% loss) in the dead of Iowa winter (local driving only) in my Hyundai Veracruz, zero highway over the course of 1000 miles. ICE range loss is a thing that no one notices.

Seems to me that’s what VinFast was expecting.

Very interesting article. The craziest part to me is the price. at $30k, the low slow speed and ride quality might be excusable. But at $70k+, you’re competing with Teslas, Base Taycans, Mach-E GTs, and other very impressive cars
