Agreed 100%. That mid-credit stinger was the worst part of the whole experience by far. Everything else felt tonally in sync and perfect but that, just as you say, was superfluous and irksome.

I’m really glad you enjoyed Before the Storm overall and connected with its many unique virtues compared to its predecessor. A lot of people get letdown by the lack of supernaturally infused gameplay, but as with you I too was engrossed by the down-to-earth nature of BtS’s proceedings.
Goose happened. Goose happened. Honk~!
OMG it actually got that high. Nice.
Thank you, Emperor. That really means a lot. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Honk~! ^^ Thank you.
Well said and I concur completely. I wish we saw more attempts at this, but were it to occur, it definitely should not become the norm. As you say, the complexity and awkwardness involved in the alien approach to movement in puzzle solving would get tiring, after awhile. I’d love to see an indie game where you play as…
Zero: Now see here, Goose. We can’t have you wrecking havoc on civilians behind enemy lines. You must complete your mission whilst maintaining the honor of the country you serve. A loose cannon mentality simply won’t do.
/comfort to your wife at experiencing the ill fated tale of Longlocks. At least you didn’t have to see the fables sex scene in the clouds, yeck. Congrats on getting the best ending though!
It’s a bit early to tell, but I’m wondering if Untitled Goose Game may eclipse Until Dawn as my litmus test for a good LPer. I’ve yet to see a bad LP of this gem. Just as with you, I adore watching people experience it for the first time. “OMG look, it walks just like a goose! Hahahaha these NPC reactions are…
Ooo, Ecco the Dolphin, that takes me back! ^^ Fond memories for that and the E.V.O.: Search for Eden title from the SNES. Now that I think about it, this is a large part of why Untitled Goose Game is so captivating. Walking around like a goose and interacting with the environment as a goose is so unique a play…
Ooo, great call! Yeah, Okami is distinctly different from anything else out there in style and substance. A shame it didn’t sell better upon its initial release.
HONK!~ ^^
Yep yep, it’s a bit of a digression on my part. Space operas definitely function with mostly humanoid types too. And thanks for the recommendation re: Starbound.
Welcome back, and congrats on defeating the Endor Casino (one of the most tricky “foes” in the game). I’m glad you’re enjoying the horse-and-cart system, a relative innovation at the time of its release, to be sure. Best of fortune with the remainder of Dragon Quest IV. It’s got a really solid ending too, if I…
Fair point on Octodad. I guess I tend to view him differently because of how alien he is to control and the absurdity inherent in his attempts to blend into human society.
/comfort. It really is a shame how few games there are out there with non human and/or alien protagonists. The only one I could think of offhand that isn’t a pseudo humanoid (TMNT, Mega Man, Pac Man, Sonic), is Octodad, but that’s hardly a sci-fi space opera. I wish developers were able to take more chances in the…
