Just to re-iterate; this has been imposed on Northern Ireland by the London government, bringing it into line with 1967 legislation in the rest of the UK. The local NI government is stymied and hasn’t sat in years. Hardliners had tried to reconvene with the express purpose of blocking reproductive rights.

Me too, but  worth a minor correction: This is occurring in Northern Ireland, not the Republic. Savita Halappanavar died in Galway, which is in the Republic.
