My best guess as to why it took so long is because Kanye was taking advantage of certain conditions that gave companies and people trepidation to cancel him:
-He’s an outspoken black man on things that mattered
-The revenue would come without any major push back
-Mentally ill and cancelling him would seem like an attack…
