How was the chicken? Well, it was definitely a dish that’s served at Applebee’s

Great comment on both accounts. I almost always get the soondubu jjigae at Hmart food court when I go shopping there and have bought the kits you linked to above and both are pretty dang good

Pretty sure my parents-in-law have gotten me probably half the list in the past few years (and many times more than once - still not sure what i’m going to do with the 2 sets of whiskey stones or the 2 packages of the same set of William Sonoma rub collection...)

Wish my wife saw this. I already know she got me a monthly or quarterly hot sauce box and I’m not terribly enthused about it. I already have 10-15 bottles and have started fermenting my own so not sure wtf I need 3 or 4 new bottles every month that I’m guessing have stupid/childish names. But I’m stuck, so the will go

Ah yes, the tried and true way to satisfy a customer and keep them interested in your product is to annoy the hell out of them for 2 weeks

Fair point - just seems like with B&Ws - you need the crack of the royal icing. Between the cakey bottom and a buttercream top - would just veer too close to a misshapen cupcake

As a NYC resident, just as your brother was horrified by a chocolate based, I would similarly be horrified at a frosting topped cookie. Its a cookie, not a cupcake and buttercream just seems so out of place to me

This might be the NJ in me but I love a good diner. Based on my life in diner, below is my list

I mean sure, be pedantic if you want but would you feel better if I posed it as if you went to a friend’s house to watch a game and after saying they’d order sandwiches, you show up and there is a platter of hot dogs on the table. I have definitely gone to friend’s houses where the food was “the luck of the draw

It fails the hot dog/sandwich question.

Sounds interesting but you are vastly overselling it as a meal kit, which I would take to mean you are actually doing some cooking.

Came here to say that - any list about steaks in a movie without the ol’ 96'er is incomplete

So they are potato croquettes?

The Polestar 2 is ugly in a different way from the beast above. It looks like a generic Hertz rental sedan and is offered in similar bland colors. Just totally uninspiring in the looks department

Always do a turkey two ways (2nd isn’t necessarily a whole bird). One is always spatchcocked and roasted. Then my second one changes year to year. I’ve done smoked, Turkey pastrami, turketta, and turkey confit. I like the Turkey pastrami the best and do it most often. This year I’m leaning toward buying a couple

Agreed and 165 is bad enough but to take it to 170… smh.

170 for breast?  My jaw hurts and my throat is dry just thinking about eating turkey breast at that temperature.

Disagree on inedible but likely not for wide consumption like a chain needs by definition. I would gladly eat ghost pepper flavored items but doubt i would do so at any chain because I know they are dumbed down and not really as spicy as “ghost pepper” should denote

6 of one, half a dozen of the other. The costs per pig increases, whether is buying/renting additional space for the same number of pigs or having less pigs for your existing space

Recurring - if you only have a set amount of space and now you can only grow 100 pigs instead of 200, you now have to spread your annual fixed costs (mortgage, tax, etc.) over half as many pigs
