Comedians are the new public orators. (See Chautauqua.) The ones who explore larger social subjects, anyway. The jokes are essential for making a point to an audience with a shriveled attention span.

The show became more than snarky comedy in the first week they came back after 9/11. Stewart was as wounded as the rest of us - a New Yorker, after all - and said that first show back that they didn't know if they could do comedy just yet, but felt a responsibility to try to lighten the grief and horror.

Never the case, but you go right ahead and reduce it to that. It is simpler than the facts, after all, and that's just digestible.

I've stayed home from work to await the inevitable sex tape.

She was never his step daughter. There. Now that lazy slander has been rebutted, people can discuss slander.

A point the man has I think. The movies herosuper not one a federation trade discussion of has.

A "formal tuxedo?" Really? So, not the short pants?

I saw the original Journey, before that howler started fronting them. They were, if I remember right, former members of Santana and some other fusion-ish band - and the majestic Aynsley Dunbar on drums. The drums were mixed way up, and rightly so. Those skins were the best singer that band ever had.

I got me some PIVOT on the Google Fiber! Catch up, America!

A "blank check!" I thought Spunky said to Rose, "You're asking me for a blackjack." For a moment, I thought we'd finally see a little real action, though it didn't make a lick of sense to me.

How do I get out of seeing this?

Vallee was one of the first pop stars enabled by inexpensive records and record players. His singing was said to "turn a coed's knees to jelly."

Last graf: You want "Pullman berth," not "sleeping car."

I have all the original Howard, including the first appearances in Man-Thing and the Giant Size reprint thing. That is all.

Thanks. I just can't keep up with the comic book characters, let alone the associated pencillers, inkers, and voice actors. I sincerely appreciate the pains you take.

Just a min. They got Conroy, and he's NOT voicing Bman? Who then? Alfred?

Goddammit, Bill Murray deserves a nomination big time for St Vincent. He delivered an outsized character in a restrained performance that was hilarious, cringeworthy, and, finally, made me cry in a theater for the first time since Mavis Pernut suddenly changed her mind about me. Cry!

Is Bouncing Boy still amongst 'em? Fat bastard scared the crap out of me as a boy. Not him, exactly, but the very idea of him. Don't ask me why. I don't know why.

Yes, I will eat your crumbs, television, and I will be grateful.

I had more fun watching this ep than any other. All the little plots tightening up, getting ready to pop.
