Do you really not take any deductions you are owed? Or are you just not counting the ones you take as a “loophole”? Or do you just happen to not have any deductions to take? By some people’s definitions things like the mortgage interest deduction or tax-advantaged retirement account contributions could be considered a

Rows are so underrated!

I noticed subway ads for an ED med delivery service showed the man’s back to the camera, with the only face shown being the woman he was embracing and presumably about to use the meds for. I guess they didn’t want to make some stock photo guy be known as “that guy who couldn’t get it up in those ads on the subway”.

I would disagree and say it is a misnomer to call countries “somewhat socialist” just because they have more extensive government programs. Assuming you are referring to places like Scandinavia and not like China. In places like Norway the majority of the means of production are still privately owned. That’s a

What percent of people are buying bottled water because it’s better water rather than for convenience? I suppose it depends on the area. I’ve been to places where even with purification the water doesn’t taste good, even if it’s technically safe to drink. But for me bottled water has always been for use when I’m out

A well-written test should be such that it being open-book or open-note is not even that helpful. My biology tests in college were open-book and tons of people still failed them. Because you had to actually understand the material to be able to answer the question rather than just having memorized some terms.

So the rings are hung from straps wrapped around the bar, and mine end up with the rings around hip height off the ground. I know some people do leg curls on rings, though I’ll admit I haven’t tried this personally (since I also have dumbbells and a few kettlebells I use for legs).

The Father’s Day one (though the same story could probably apply to Mother’s Day) particularly annoys me. Like if you have a difficult relationship with the parent being celebrated on that day I get that it can be awkward. But then, wouldn’t that be true of all other family-oriented holidays? Personally I get along

I don’t have a suspension trainer but I have gymnastics rings hung from my pull-up bar, so similar idea. In my case it’s also nice to have the pull-up bar in case I ever get serious about trying to get a pull-up.

I know several people who actively dislike the taste of herbs in their marinara. To them it’s about letting the taste of the tomatoes shine through, plus I have one friend who just doesn’t like the taste of basil. It’s not a convenience thing because they have no issues chopping for other meals, they just genuinely

I guess the question is, how much bacteria was on the food to begin with? It’s not like food is perfectly sterile normally.

Also smaller slices leave more room for calibrating the amount of food taken to your precise appetite. If pizza is not the only food at the party, it’s nice to have the option to take only one slice of a medium pie and have room left to eat wings, potato skins, etc. Whereas you have to take your pizza in fairly large

Yeah, I guess the main place where we disagree is the importance of getting kids vaccinated before we go back to normal. I know there are risks besides just death, but even those are generally exceedingly rare in healthy children. I suppose there could be some crazy side effect that pops up in 5 years in kids who had

Surprised the article doesn’t mention a tolerance break. Admittedly less fun than the other suggestions, but also probably the most effective. As the friend who rarely smokes except occasionally with my full-time stoner buddies, I often get properly zooted on what they are smoking as their casual very light buzz

I mean I agree it’s a bit weird but you can do mobile deposit of checks.

Also, there are real costs to continuing some of these precautions, and at some point there needs to be a cost-benefit analysis discussion. Everyone make their own decisions as a parent, but to me the benefits of letting my kid be able to see their friend’s faces on a playdate would outweigh the (nonzero but very

Getting vaccinated is obviously good advice, but I don’t understand what the end game is supposed to be on masks and distancing. I could even see waiting for kids to be eligible to be vaccinated, but what if it’s found that the benefits don’t outweigh the risks of vaccination for kids and there is never a vaccine

I’m team Violife for fake cheese. Not vegan but wanted to try it so have tried a few different brands and that one was the best by far.

Idk I WFH but live in an area with some good lunch options within a short walk and I’ve actually found occasionally picking up lunch from outside to be even more worthwhile than it was when I was in the office. Because now if I don’t either go out for coffee/lunch or intentionally go for a walk to nowhere I might not

I do both (max out 401k and Roth IRA) because I can afford to relatively easily, and I figure it’s not a bad idea to take all the tax advantages I can get. The yearly limit on a Roth IRA is also much lower than for a 401k ($6k vs. $19,5000 in 2021). If you’d have to be super frugal in a way you don’t want to to afford
