I am not trying to wake up with a chicken’s beak for a mouth, because that’s what’s going to happen to me, once my Louisiana relatives find out.

See, but I DO want to watch Video Ho next.

I keep reading this thinking that you were gonna tell us some bad news. That’s what 2017 did to me.

Yes it’s fairly pricey and good and should only be served with a drop of water.

Hahahah oh the lettuce jam! Hailed as “the reason Trump won.”

Take that BS flaccid toxic masculinity somewhere else. Preferably to go watch some horrible 80s Stallone movie.

Michael Harriot, you can write your ass off. I can rarely think of any criticism or issue to take with your articles, so I’m left with the same “great job!” posts each time. They seem insufficient.

I would suggest you read the rest of Mr. Harriots post, he really digs into West’s criticism later in the article.

Thanks for responding, Michael. And again, the Root seems to give exceptional coverage of West trolling other black scholars, which I do not understand. (I of course saw that video of West and scrolled past it.)

Bernie is as problematic as his supporters, dude. Here’s some receipts:

I think Dr. West illustrates well the devolution into uselessness the word “neoliberal” has taken.

“I believed that white people would never accept the inherent evil of white supremacy without it being tied to the macro-political reality of free-market economics.”

Cornel West has never had the popular appeal that Ta-Nehisi Coates has. So here’s this upstart negro with no letters after his name who didn’t even graduate from Howard out here writing about white supremacy and even white people are buying his books? That must be eating at Cornel West.

I feel like Obama got handed centuries of hatred, the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression, two wars that were left ignored for years, and all the other usual problems that come with being President and people were like, “You’ve got about four months to fix it all.”

If I tweeted “Sky is blue today!” and Dickie Spencer agreed with me, I’d go outside and check, then delete it anyway.

There’s nothing morally admirable about Bernie Sanders. Our whole country is fucked because he couldn’t get over his own ego.

That’s exactly what they’re doing. They call everyone a neoliberal. Did Hillary Clinton want to privatize schools? Does Coates? Did Obama? No. It’s nonsense.

All the people who attack Tahanesi always attempt to mischaracterize his POV or criticize him for not offering them palatable solutions. They can never ever refute the facts he lays out in his writing because his shit is so fucking tight and insightful. That is their greatest beef with the brother, he builds a case

I really appreciate the deep-dive this week on the West vs. Coates fight. I haven’t read either closely enough to feel confident in giving an opinion, but the general gist reminds me of grad school debates over the “pure” ideology and the nasty business of implementing an ideology. Good executives (like Obama) are

West is salty at Obama because he wouldn’t talk about race and he’s salty at Coates because Coates talks about race too much. At what point does this become Old Man Contrarianism wrapped in a veneer of intellectual thought?
