I didn't get to see this when it originally aired, despite being alive and moderately old enough, because my local NBC station decided SNL was too risque for our city and refused to carry it for the first two seasons.

I feel compelled to mention, because it never can be said enough, that those dual PhDs are both in Economics.  I don't know which is the do-over.

It's a gritty remake of Brooklyn Bridge.

Those Madison County bridges aren't faithful anyway.

Boy, if L. Frank Baum set out to make the Oz books not dark, he failed miserably.  The books are dark as fuck.  But since Zack only mentions stuff from the movie, I have to assume he's never read the books.

And by that I retroactively mean: tonight's Haven featured a school shooting, so it was pulled in favor of the 2010 Christmas episode.  Oof.

Season 3 will be in 3D.  It's the law.

Haven!

Honestly, I find it much weirder that Rachel's doting stage fathers wouldn't make a trip to NY to see their daughter getting the super special honor of being a rare freshman competing in the Winter Showcase.  They should have made some excuse for them not being there, because IRL parents like Rachel's would never miss

The thing is, Axl did sort of know what it meant to Brick, which is why he did it.  Axl is not a reader, but he surely gets spoilers in the context of movies and tv.  What he didn't get was just how much time a reader can invest in a series — waiting seven years for an ending definitely makes a spoiler worse — and how

I love that the Hecks have fast food pretty much every night for dinner, but it turns out there is steak hiding in the freezer that Mike just whips up for a midnight snack.

Heh.  Douse means "put out" like extinguish.  You know, like a fire, pouring water over.  Not knock out.

They are often told which forms of transportation they can and cannot take.  If taking the subway was as obvious a choice as you say, it's likely they were told they couldn't take it for whatever reason (too tough to drag the crew with them?  more drama going by taxi in the final leg?).
