I’ve had good experiences with NextDoor in the two different neighborhoods I’ve lived in. I used it to find a great mechanic and to borrow a high powered fan after my roof leaked. Between finding an honest mechanic and borrowing a fan that likely saved my couch, NextDoor has probably saved me close to $3000 in the

First step would be to figure out why drinks don’t go down well. Acidic mixers like OJ or margarita mix? All wine? What are you drinking? Or does everything not go down well? Are you mixing it up too much? That whole liquor before beer tripe is BS, but mixing too many liquors/beers/mixers/wine can definitely

I’ve bartended off and on for years (first through college and then part time for fun), and while some bartenders can be dicks about a lot of questions, I think it’s my job to find you a drink you’ll enjoy. A couple of questions I ask. How do you take your coffee? Extra sugar, extra cream and I’ll steer you towards

While working from home is ideal for large projects that require a lot of concentration, I would suggest focusing on shorter projects that will show results faster at first. It’s helpful to have something tangible to show at the end of the day. In most cases, I’m far more productive at home vs. in the office.

I am one of those people who fall into the middle category. I’ve had issues with allergies (both food and other things) for my entire life. I made a decision with my doctor 7 years ago to primarily cut out gluten and a few other things. I’ve made several attempts, both on my own and with my doctor to get to the

Seconded. Had meningitis at 4. Three days in the ICU and 10 days in the hospital. I can’t understand not getting that vaccine.

I’m not a parent, but snap map was enough for me to take pause and think this it a bit too invasive for teens to be a part of. While it’s opt in lots of teens add people pretty indiscriminately. And they use snap chat a lot. One 17 year old relative of mine has sent 284,000 snaps since she’s joined (maybe 2 years

Consider adding a probiotic to your diet. And, as other’s have suggested, go see your doctor.

As someone who worked in the restaurant industry, this could not be more true. People are quick to blame the last restaurant, but unless multiple people who did nothing in common except eat at said restaurant are sick, it’s probably something else. In reality, you’ll likely never know how you got food poisoning, and

A little at a time works best for me. Small bits of cleaning add up and make it so I don’t feel like my entire Saturday is spent cleaning. I sweep or put away the dishes while my coffee brews, I typically just wash dishes after each meal, so this is no build up. If I notice something looks like it needs cleaning

I’ve always been happy I have a job where my biggest possible mistake could not result in anything actually terrible. There is responsibility and then there is dealing with people’s lives.

Best of friends for 8 years and you can’t pick up the phone and apologize/ask what’s going on?

It’s reading. I’m an adult. I don’t have the energy to pretend I read something. My book club and my dad can get over it. I either read it (because I want to or want something that is a result of reading it) or I don’t. I’ve also given up on the notion that I have to finish every book I start. There are far too

My niece (now 5) has flown regularly (2-3 times a year). Since she was old enough to eat them a bag of Gummies Bears as a treat and to help with take off and landing pressuring has been her trick. She also buys a new toy and downloads a new app so that there is something new and exciting to do on the flight. If you

This type of daily fluctuation is why I argue against weekly weighing as a good thing. I either weigh myself daily or not at all. Weekly looks at a small glimpse and doesn’t give you a good sense of overall trends, which can lead to binge dieting or lack of motivation. The trick is if you weigh yourself daily you

Thank you for that. I know that vast majority of folks mean well, but can’t comprehend not having a mother that loves you and would do anything for you. Hope you are able to celebrate your mom this coming mother’s day in your own way.

It’s hard for me because my mother is toxic, and I chose to cut her out my life nearly two decades ago. I try to acknowledge the other “parents” in my life who have stepped up and been there for me over the years, but mostly it’s just another day.

On not doing too much: I created a rule for myself years ago to only try one new recipe per meal. It eliminates the need to thing too hard about too many things and not everything can fail because I already know I like 3 out 4 components of my meal.
