In trying to explain this to my 12 year old, I told them everyone involved was wrong, but the kids were extra wrong. Had they walked away, we wouldn’t even known this existed.

I look back at some of the shenanigans I got into as a kid 20-odd years ago. It was never anything racist or vile, but teen mischief like roof surfing and trespassing on construction sites. Had someone had a cell phone camera back then, I’d probably be a youtube star for being an idiot. Kids today can’t make a mistake…
The kids asked their teachers to do school spirit chants/songs to counter the slurs. Why the hell didn’t the adults say “no, walk away.” There were chaperones there that sure as hell should have known better. Your course of action is always the right one, but a group of adults coulnd’t come up with it.
If the controllers and TSA called in sick Sunday and Monday, this would be resolved by Wednesday. Imagine all the business travelers and vacationers stranded with now way to get to their destination and little recourse. The immediate impact to the economy would be massive. People would be screaming at their reps.
The other factor unions have failed to address is globalization. When you pit labor against management, management realizes they can make it cheaper with less headache in a low cost country and move there.
I’ve been around both union and non-union manufacturing for 20+ years. I’ve seen way more corruption and mismanagement in that time than virtuous leadership. It’s not a bug of current unions, its a feature.
Mea Culpa! I didn’t read all the way through. Glad to see it is backed up from multiple sources.
As much as a bombshell as this can be, where’s the corroboration? Reading the report, it sounds like this came from Cohen himself. He’s got no reason now to lie about this, but to nail Trump any good prosecutor will want a second source. Is there a recording, email confirming it, or another witness in the room who can…
It’s also interesting how those who are rabidly anti-GMO are very much behind climate change and vise versa. They believe in one set of scientists, but not the other.
The best comment I’ve heard about this is that Trump act like a hobo thinks a rich guy would. I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited into the homes of a few real rich people (not paper rich like Trump), and their style can be described as “restrained.” What they have is clearly high quality, but it’s subdued. …
100 mile rule. If you’re within 100 miles of an international border, ICE can pick you up. Add to that he has a Hispanic-origin name and wasn’t being a good boy, and BINGO! ICE has a winner.
A big part of the problem is when the rules changed where student debt coulnd’t be absolved in bankruptcy. Since both the colleges and the government knew they were getting their money regardless of the student’s ability to pay, there was no reason to do means testing or evaluation of how much a comparative philosophy…
Not just STEM, but trades as well. A friend of the family is an electrician who owns his own business. He’s been working for 25+ years and regularly clears $150k annually, before he adds in side jobs and special contracts. He doesn’t have a single college credit to his name. I had an allied trades section in the Army…
The question I want answered is “What changed?” Why is this coming out now? What’s driving Christie to suddenly turn on Trump?
Anytime someone suggest getting rid of the Senate, I like to remind them of the tyranny of the majority. If California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia, & Michigan got together and decided to turn Idaho into the national landfill..there is fuck all anyone could do about it. Those 9 states…
I seem to remember six-ish years where there was the same party in charge of the White House and the Legislature that would have benefited from a couple extra senators. They weren’t able to get much done.
China administers certain cities as special administrative districts (Shanghai for one) as separate from their “home” state in order to manage industry & workers separately from others in the state. I’m sure if it works so well there, it will be something we can model after.
I’ve had the opposite experience. We were looking for a new car last year, so we did a lot internet searches and “i’m interested” emails. I couldn’t get dealers to stop emailing me. I just wanted to ask a couple questions and get an upfront price. They kept sending up follow ups “are you still interested?”, “we…
Are there any Trump properties in California? Maybe they denied him a permit so he’s pissy about that.
That’s an example of bad flow. The shit the boss is shoveling is rolling downhill. I agree not every boss understands we’re all not robot; I’ve worked for a few of those. I’m more concerned about the guy who gets sick every couple months, comes in and coughs on everyone, then two weeks latter half the department has a…
