I’ve got what my kids call the “dad-pack” that’s a small backpack that has all the T1 & most T2 items in it. It hangs in the front closet and we grab it when we go hiking, to the amusement park, long walks. I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve saved the trip by pulling something out of there.

We’re the “hangout” family. We always offer and have food & space for the kids. It really does give you an insight to what’s going on, so long as your not obtrusive. It also lets you have good conversations with your kids (and possibly others) about what you overhear, so long as your not too judgey in what you say.

It’s also about usage.  A lot of commuters would be fine with a 200-300 mile range as all they do is drive 30-40 miles back and forth to work and maybe some errands on the weekend.  Have an in town EV and a ICE for long range.

We have an 08 SX4 manual that’s the around town beater and it’s an absolute champ. We bought it used eight years ago and have barely had to spend a dime on repairs. As much as I want to get rid of it, I’m really going to miss how reliable it’s been.

All the rare earths in the batteries and motors don’t come cheap. We’re trading one disaster for another.

For the last 2 cars we’ve bought, we had financing already arranged. I had the loan through my bank and they were ready to wire a check wherever I told them.

I worked for an Indian manager a number of years back. After a couple days, I asked him to help me pronounce his name right. We went back and forth for about 5 minutes until I got it. It was a bit embarrassing for me, but names are an important part of your identity, and I wanted to treat my boss right.
