I’ve been a Clever Fox evangelist for years. I use the Clever Fox Ultimate Achiever and love the feeling of starting fresh every quarter.

John Wesley Shipp has entered the chat...

My daughter’s a vegetarian and chicken was the only meat she said she missed until we found the Morningstar chicken.  She absolutely loves them.

I worked for GE a while back when the news came out they were moving to all LED bulbs in production. I had a co-worker who calculated how many incandescent bulbs he would need to last for the rest of his life (~40 year) and ordered them all in bulk so he’d never have to get an LED.  He had 3 pallets of bulbs drop

I’ve got what my kids call the “dad-pack” that’s a small backpack that has all the T1 & most T2 items in it. It hangs in the front closet and we grab it when we go hiking, to the amusement park, long walks. I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve saved the trip by pulling something out of there.

We’re the “hangout” family. We always offer and have food & space for the kids. It really does give you an insight to what’s going on, so long as your not obtrusive. It also lets you have good conversations with your kids (and possibly others) about what you overhear, so long as your not too judgey in what you say.

It’s also about usage.  A lot of commuters would be fine with a 200-300 mile range as all they do is drive 30-40 miles back and forth to work and maybe some errands on the weekend.  Have an in town EV and a ICE for long range.

We have an 08 SX4 manual that’s the around town beater and it’s an absolute champ. We bought it used eight years ago and have barely had to spend a dime on repairs. As much as I want to get rid of it, I’m really going to miss how reliable it’s been.

Would a haunted Betamax tape be better or worse? Laserdisk was the forerunner of the CD and is king of undead, where as Betamax was a cursed abomination that should never have been brought upon this earth.

When I was in college, I’d go about twice a semester. I was in ROTC, and after we had a weekend field training, all of would descend on the local OCB on a Sunday night, still smelling of gunsmoke with camo facepaint mostly washed off.

I worked at a Fortune 50 manufacturing company and it was “a pitch.

I used to buy populated PCBs for locomotives. A loco has a useful life of ~20 year and a shit ton of electronics (think of them as diesel electric generators on tracks). It wasn’t just the electronics controlling the power generation and distribution, there is also a host of controls for fuel consumption, traction

We always go with “tell me 2 things you learned (it could be something about their friend)“ and “what did you talk about at lunch”. Those would get the conversation going.

Seven years ago, we bought a 08 Suzuki SX4 manual for $5k cash. It’s gone through 3 kids now and has become my daily driver. It never leaves the county, only needs an oil change when I get the annual inspection, and gets filled up every 3rd week.

Try it on a sandwich with crusty bread.

I’ve changed all my breakfasts & lunches to vegetarian and most dinners. The biggest thing is to plan ahead. I take a couple hours on Sunday afternoon to make all my lunches for the week and when I shop, I buy for vegetarian breakfasts. We plan dinners a week out, so we shop for what’s in season and lean meats.  It’s

All the rare earths in the batteries and motors don’t come cheap. We’re trading one disaster for another.

For the last 2 cars we’ve bought, we had financing already arranged. I had the loan through my bank and they were ready to wire a check wherever I told them.

I’m getting the same vibe here. Normally, this would be a hard pass as I don’t care for rom-coms or Christmas movies, but I may watch this just based on the cast. There are a lot of really good actors (and Kristen Stewart) in this movie, so I may give it a go.

I worked for an Indian manager a number of years back. After a couple days, I asked him to help me pronounce his name right. We went back and forth for about 5 minutes until I got it. It was a bit embarrassing for me, but names are an important part of your identity, and I wanted to treat my boss right.
