I’m not a HUGE fan of the original, but I completely agree. 2049 was a visual feast; the atmosphere, cinematography, and overall design was gorgeous.

So even the people who’ve told me what an asshat he is say he’s great with his fans. And he’s definitely done a lot of charity gigs. But I’ve never spoken to anyone who’s worked with him who had a single nice thing to say (all crew of various sorts, and writers, not costars. Maybe he’s different with them)

Absolutely. I’m sad to hear about Schreiber, I’ve been a big fan of his decades. But we’re sort of conditioned to hope people we like are actually not awful.

For what’s it’s worth, there’s sort of a LOT of people who’ve worked with him who have spoken out about him being an incredibly shitty person, and wildly egotistical. His statement about the strike seems very onbrand.

He absolutely meant what he said to begin with because Stephen Amell is a raging narcissist. Good luck finding anyone who’s worked with him who has a kind thing to say about him.

I’ve heard crew members on both his new show and Arrow discuss how incredibly shitty he is to work with. This is definitely not going to make anyone like him more (though it sounds like he’s pretty much loathed by everyone he works with anyway).

This seems absurd. Driver and Robbie seem possible, but Daveed Diggs and Paul Mescal for $20million a piece? I dont see any possible way they were going to make that. I mean, maybe for a multipicture deal?

Well yeah, but the person I replied to said they “don’t know if they outright cancelled all the Jedi shows, or if those morphed into The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew”

Which Jedi shows? The only one I remember was Acolyte, which is coming.

I never really read Fantastic Four, so I don’t know how it worked in the comics, but I’m just going to believe that, while she may have all of their powers, she’s not as strong as they are individually.

Based on past history, they will absolutely hit all the unlocks. They’ve already funded with 42 days to go. Looking at previous Haslabs, if they actually fund, they’ve pretty consistently hit all tier goals.

Right? It’s a weirdly negative perspective, and I would hazard that James doesn’t actually know much about the history. Otherwise he probably would have mentioned that the two projects that failed were both stepping outside of the 3.75 scale, where these sort of large format pieces thrive.

I’m not saying it’s a good deal, but I can’t think of many purchases in my everyday life that haven’t increased significantly in price over the last 15 years. (When the big Falcon was first released at $250)

Marketing basically. I’ve never heard of the Backbone, whereas I assume Sony will put some decent money trying to push this thing to their customers. Never underestimate the allure that staying within a brands ecosystem holds for a lot of people

I know more than one friend who used the remote play option on their Vita all the time. Mostly parents who can’t always be in front of their living room tv but want the flexibility to get in some game time when they have time (usually in bed after their kids went to sleep). I loved it too but couldn’t get used to

Someone asked one of the designers that during the Q&A. He didn’t exactly say no but it definitely sounded like they did not design or test it.

I mostly checked out of Doctor Who (would leave it on in the background) during the Capaldi era. I completely stopped watching halfway into season 1 of the Chinball era.

For better or worse, its “proper” ratio is 4:3. (Which is not the same thing as Pan and Scan). As stated elsewhere it as filmed in a wider ratio simply because that how most available film stock was produced, not because it was ever intended to be seen that way. If they did remaster the show using the wider film

The point of having him was so that he WOULD be noticed and recognized. If you haven’t watched, it actually didn’t work initially, so they had to have another “juror” walk by and ask Marsden if he would take a selfie with her, so that Ronald would take notice and Marsden could explain that he was famous.

Yeah sorry, but not really. I love the idea of Captain Carter and would be happy to see more of her in the future. But this wasn’t Atwells film, and wasn’t even the version of the character she had played prior. She was a tool to tell the story and, within that context, they treated her as the badass she was supposed
