The Twittersphere has DECIDED he sucks as a human. They don’t KNOW he sucks as a human because they don’t actually know him. People who actually know him don’t appear to think that (though, being Hollywood I’m more than willing to take that with a grain of salt).
She wasn’t really a love interest, just a part of Caps storyline. She would have played a waitress at a cafe where Cap would go everyday, early in the film. Then he saves her during the battle for New York. And at the end she tells CNN how grateful she is for the Avengers.
But that logic could be applied to nearly anything. The trick, as it is with EVERY film, is to actually make you care enough about the characters that you go along for the ride. It’s not a new problem, it’s always been there.
Back in 2014 Tom Cruise was scheduled to make an adaptation of Goes Like Hell, directed by Kosinski and potentially costarring Pitt. But since James Mangold beat them to it with Ford v Ferrari, this sounds like they still want to scratch that racing film itch.
Kosinski apparently coming up with the idea for this movie after he met Hamilton through Tom Cruise during the making of Maverick.
I don’t think it’s a given. They’ve been modeling game characters after the voice actor for a long time; look at Force Unleashed or LA Noire. A lot of times it’s just because it makes it easier to translate their mocap performance directly.
No, you’re completely right, the numbering of the LucasArts Star Wars game makes about as much sense as Activision’s for Call Of Duty. Jedi Knight II: Outcast is indeed the sequel to Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, which absolutely had Jedi Knight: Mysteries Of Sith release between the two.
At this point that’s kind of like saying “Can the Superman series FINALLY get back to journalism?”
I very much feel your burnout, but I’ve been waiting seemingly all my life for a Star Wars open world game that truly made me feel like I was living in an SW story. I’m all in. (if it doesn’t suck)
Actually I was impressed at their restraint. I fully expected a link to a Gawker article about the woman who went on a date with him and then had mediocre sex, and turned it into (with assistance from ethics challenged outlets like Gawker) a MeToo story of sexual harassment.
Exactly. There so many odd assumptions and accusations here for such a straight forward thing that many people would have done. Why not confine the anger towards all of the ACTUAL bad things he’s done? It’s not like there aren’t enough of them.
I think that’s 100% true, but one problem is that even if those of us who think what he’s doing is gross and potentially very harmful, he still has a legion of followers who are so devoted to him that they deny he’s doing anything wrong. There’s no arguing with stans because they just don’t care.
Grogu is still emblematic of what’s wrong with modern Star Wars, it’s all rooted in nostalgia.
I think the opposite: it was conceived of as it’s own thing, but half way through they decided it was too new and needed to get back to the successful formula of The Mandalorian.
But that is why you’ll see “no jake brake” signs now and then.
I was 14 when I visited my grandfathers farm in East Texas and he asked if I had driven yet. I said no, so he told me to hop into an old Jeep Cherokee he kept. Immediately upon seeing the gear shift I asked if maybe he had an automatic I should learn on instead.
The thing is, it almost doesn’t matter if they’re real. Since he makes all of his money off of just being “him”, the whole story is just more content for his brand.
I liked Black Widow, but the timing absolutely kills it for me. If they had somehow managed to film and release it BETWEEN Infinity War and Endgame, it would have served Widow so, so much better. As it is, it really felt like a perfunctory coda to a character who was out of the story.
That’s interesting. Of all the shows actors I thought Steven Straight was the closest to the books. All of the actors were good, but the show’s Amos was simply NOT the book Amos. Alex actually nailed that character, but was young and pretty like the other actors. Naomi was likewise good, but I never once thought she…
