I'm hoping this was the first role in a spare and the finale will appropriately cut pete down to size

The CMS is in Mountain Time, I believe I set it so that it would post as the episode ended (8:30pm mountain time = 10:30 pst time)…did it post too early? If so, I apologize and will check out why…

But we were already told the Man In The High Castle doesn't make the films ("Why would we spend so much time gathering films to give back to him?") he just collects them in return for Nazi info to help the rebels. Hitler could be collecting the films on every front (getting SS people to do it and the rebels) or he

Thank you! I don't know why but the editing page keeps replacing links with different ones… they should be fixed now!

Frank's got Wu

I should probably revise to say we meet a man in A high castle, may not be THE high castle. Honestly, I, too, am looking forward to the in depth reviews!

I worry this show is bizarrely calculated exactly for my sentiments so I'm biased in how deeply appreciative of it I am

Wow I need to brush up on my linguistics/dialects. I assumed he was a German officer sent to US and that's why he'd taken assimilation to task so hard. With the kids, I figured they were born American and he was just making a joke.

I like that they include a sizeable portion of dialogue in Japanese. It feels respectful and also realistic, since English is a Germanic language and probably easier for the assimilated Nazis.

Thank you! I'll reflect that in the next couple reviews and add a note here too.

You're right, I was mistaken! It's "Heydrich," not Heinrech.

It's hinted at throughout the series that the Japanese are kept at a technological disadvantage by the Germans.

YES! Full disclosure, not entirely sure who Reiss is. Is he the Nazi that brings in the coffee? Smith's is the best, Wegener's sounds to me like he slips into Swedish and English occasionally, Heydrich (whoops, thought it was "Heinrech") sounds like me in a bad improv scene playing a German. This right??

The 8th is "!!!" and I hope the 9th and 10th don't fall to "…"

I found the scene truly delightful on a personal level but doubting its necessity for the show

I just wish we could all be in one giant living room, collectively throwing peanuts at the screen and gasping whenever there's something PARTICULARLY nuanced happening.

A lil update: I'm burnin' through the back end now and will post the reviews ASAP! Until then, please feel free to keep commenting here or on the individual pages, or shoot me a message on Twitter!

true— although Joe could probably call the Obergobbledygookenfurher and get a plane ticket. Plus, Jules took the bus home so he had that amount of time to get back to NY. Interesting question though: I feel like this must have all taken place over the course of a couple weeks

WOWWWWW THANK YOU!!!!! seriously, thank you that's a good find/informs a lot more now going forward
