This is what I say to the people who say “I voted for Trump but would NEVER admit it to my friends/family/co-workers/etc.” If you aren’t willing to defend your choice, maybe you didn’t think it through.

Good for you. I’m lucky because my parents are staunch Republicans, but they are willing to listen and learn. They change their views when they encounter facts that necessitate it. So, maybe imperfect, but I do believe they are mostly good people.

It’s true. Many of us will be ok. I live in a liberal city in a liberal state with a good job and reasonable health insurance, and while I could always use more money, I’m not in danger of not being able to pay my bills and I’m not at risk for becoming homeless. If I lost my job, I have family who are able to lend me

A friend at a party this weekend responded to a sarcastic “We’ll be fine!...” with “No, seriously, most of us in this room will be fine. And we need to remember that if things seem bad to us, they’re a thousand times worse for many others.”

“Write a note to yourself about what you would never do. And when you come to the line, don’t cross it.”

Honestly I think Putin could see we were on the wane anyway. He was probably anticipating a world where China and Russia are the only remaining superpowers and he wanted to blunt China’s influence in advance.

Simple, they bent the knee and either supported him or stayed silent during Trump’s worst stunts, Ryan never directly attacked Trump and just referred to ‘certain statements’ as reprehensible.

I can’t get a decent adulting job without a degree, an advanced degree, excellent grades, 10+ years experience, passing a screening test that determines if I’ll “fit in” with their company culture, passing a drug test, and yet these yahoos are in charge of our entire country.

“Partial birth” is an invented non-medical term made up by a right wing think tank, so maybe no. Again, why do you think you or some random elected officials should get to decide who should be allowed to control their own body? Do you really have the insane belief that there are legions of doctors itching to abort

Pro-choice advocates can help move the dialogue around abortion in a different direction. Maybe go up to pro-lifers and say, “Oh, you want to help stop abortions? Me too, and I’d love your help on this. Let’s implement comprehensive sex education in schools, increase the availability and affordability of birth control

THIS! I am (theoretically) equal to men before the law. No medical procedures that exist solely for men are legislated through cheap appeals to religious bullshit the way women’s health issues are. Laws restricting women’s health are inherently unequal in this country.

Feminism is about equality through legal rights and changing outdated cultural attitudes. When you try to take away other women’s rights, you aren’t a feminist.

The phrase “Big Government” kills me every time I hear it, not because I’m opposed to it, but because talk of reducing the size of the federal government is fucking ridiculous. We’re the 4th largest country in the world by land mass. The 3rd largest by population. The largest by GDP. The government is the size it is

They don’t speak to the protestors because they aren’t ALLOWED to by their company. Only the Public Relations/Media Office is allowed to speak to members of the media or to protestors like the ones mentioned.

When asked to make statements contrary to the goals of their employer, I was shocked that no one stood up for those impacted by their company’s egregious behavior.

No one is cheaper than the rich. No one.
