Retail is so interesting. I was 100% the yin to your yang. I never shopped JCP because of the antiquated brands, and marked-up pricing. I totally rejected a store that effectively *required* you to have coupons to reasonably shop there.

I got mildly lost, and my phone had died. I went into a gas station to ask (simple) directions, and the girl behind the counter looked at me like I was robbing the place. The guy behind me was as shocked at her reaction as I was, and kindly told me where to go.  Wild.

I remember reading that the “E” (capital) in the middle was also a not-so-subtle ecstasy reference.  I think a producer may even have confirmed at some point.

I think people are just enchanted by the idea. No tanking if you get relegated. No historically futile/useless franchises (Browns, Lions).  Higher stakes for big fish who continue to dominate small ponds.

You can all laugh, but this was in fact part of my drivers’ ed curriculum. Not that the car would ‘correct’, per se, but that we were supposed to let it slide back toward center throughout the turn, rather than forcing it all the way through.

This is exactly what it is. My mother was involved in a 4AM rollover on an icy freeway ramp (in Metro Detroit, no less) at relatively low speed - no other cars involved. Ticketed afterwards for driving at an unsafe speed.

Student loans. It kills me that I can’t get points by using a credit card to pay my student loans. It’s bad enough I’m spending post-tax dollars to pay them, at least let me get some points from my credit card company. I’d willingly move them to a new lender for the option to pay with a credit card.

Even with PASS, you didn’t get every game. I remember at least a half dozen (Wings) games a year being set aside for “PASS pay per view” at an additional per-game charge.

My recollection is you can’t “become a runner” when you catch the ball *in* the end zone. You do that, and you’re in that whole “complete the process” zone. It’s a different standard.
