“I gotta think there are a lot of suburban mothers horrified that one day their innocent son could be accused and presumed guilty of false claims.”
Alcohol is an excuse for men to grope women, but for women, it’s a reason to blame them.
Exactly.
It never ceases to amaze me that they think that not getting on the Supreme Court is going to “ruin a life.” By that silly metric, they were perfectly happy ruining Merrick Garland’s life for the crime of getting nominated by a Black president.
As someone I know said this weekend: “If not getting a Supreme Court seat is having your life ruined, then I’m not sure why the GOP was so anxious to ruin Merrick Garland's life with no accusations of any wrongdoing at all."
Lindsey Graham has been particularly nasty during this entire debacle. Part of me wonders if there’s not something in his past that is making him act this way. Then again, he’s probably just an asshole.
“Unless there is something more...like the FBI digs something up but we don’t need an FBI investigation as it might provide a base for these baseless claims.”
“If that’s the new standard, no man will ever qualify for the Supreme Court again.”
Someone posted a tweet “Conservative women saying that “if that’s assault, then all women have been assaulted!” are sooo close.” But I can’t find the tweet again.
Somewhat related to the Joker pictures we’ve been getting.
I honestly think that the failure of everyone to protect is worse. I was progressing well dealing with memories of abuse but completely lost it when I realized no one in my family believed me/cared.
Everyone failed this girl because he was an “important person,” fuck all of them. I hope she is on the path to recovery and far away from every single person that contributed to this.
“Her uncle contacted the local police and county sheriff’s offices, which launched an investigation but closed it after two months”
Probably a lot of "Hey, there he is!" and "What's up, chief?" and "There's my favorite girl!"
5 year old me: You should take some of them back, did you keep the receipts?
My hubby and I are big LotR fans, books and movie. It’s our thing, and “May It Be” was played at our wedding. (Apparently it’s very difficult to play because of changing time signatures.) When we blended houses, we ended up with two full copies of all of the movies, both the theatrical releases and special extended…
It isn’t a terrible trilogy. It is a terrible trilogy compared to LOTR. It is also not as good as the book. But few movies ever are.
