I hear you, I believe you, I’m with you.

I hear you. I see you. I am you, sis.

People are imagining the Nolanverse’s grimdarkness through the prism of the genuinely dour and self-serious Snyderverse films. The quip-quotient isn’t quite as high as your average Marvel movie, but Nolan’s films are anything but humorless. They even have not one but two non-stop quip machines in Alfred and Lucius

It makes me wonder if they’re drugging his drinks at night now to try and stop his morning Twitter rampages before they get into work to drug him in the mornings. They needed pure, unfiltered dumbass for the rally last night so they didn’t get to drug him last night.

Fred Trump was an awful parent that gave us this shitstain.

who is under assault by radical left wing politicians

That’s a big reason why I don’t like the Dark Knight Rises as much.  As dark as people say the Dark Knight is, it still has plenty of silly moments including the one where Lucius Fox explains how absurd the idea of Bruce Wayne being Batman is.  The Dark Knight Rises is truly a joyless slog.

As is Lucius mocking Bruce for wearing a 3 button suit.

I think I’ve mentioned it in one of the earlier discussions in this series, but that dumb “I don’t have to save you” moment apparently came very late in the development process. In this draft of the screenplay, which is otherwise very close to the finished project give or take a final dialogue polish, they don’t try

The whole “spelunking” conversation is quite funny.

I dunno, I think Nolan winked a bit in the Dark Knight trilogy. They’re usually presented as humorless, but these are movies where Batman says, “Nice jacket,” to the homeless guy he gave it to before zip-lining away, and where Ra’s al Ghul snarks on Bruce’s devotion to theatricality.

I find Constantine to be an actually pretty good movie, it’s just a bad Constantine movie, if that makes any sense. Slap another name on Keanu and it wouldn’t be as dismissed as it tends to be.

“You look like an asshole.”

Season 2, imo was the best Marvel-Netflix show to date.  Season 1 was great too, just a close runner up to season 2.  Punisher/Kingpin in Season 2 really made it for me.  The ending was lacking with the hand, but at the end of the day it was overall too good to be tarnished by things that only made sense by combining

As a fellow member of the “Season 2 of Daredevil is great, sod the lot of you” club, you have my support.

And now imagine Vincent D’Onofrio dancing like this

I am imagining “King Pen” as an evil version of “Pig Pen” from Charlie Brown, which would be great and set up all kind of Marvel/ Charlie Brown-universe crossover possibilities

Also delightful: Jessica being annoyed at Matt’s refusal to give her back her scarf. And then when later seeing him in full costume, telling him, “the scarf looked better.”

All I ask is that Jessica Jones show up for one episode. She and Matt had great chemistry. One of the few notable aspects about The Defenders.

I loved both Daredevil Season 1 and (unfashionably) also Season 2.
