Pretty much. The case of Savita Halappanavar in Ireland comes to mind but I'm sure there are many more. It's especially infuriating because they claim sanctity of life, but the if the woman dies, the fetus isn't going to live anyway. Why not save the life that's possible?

True, but we need to keep repeating the facts. The forced birth crowd repeats lies over and over knowing that they will be absorbed by low information voters. We need to counter their misinformation.

*Exclusions may apply, especially in the uterus

But it MIGHT, and that's just the WORST.

There's also, if you believe Luker, the threat to "traditional" culture

Except hormonal BC doesn't do that.

It's about fucking over women and pretending that it's your religious beliefs are the reason. None of these people actually give a shit about the lives of unwanted children; they just want to punish women for having sex.

still the taking of a life or at least the shuffling of a soul

It's funny, because the conservatives I know rant all over facebook about how everything's going to hell in a handbasket because everyone's so damn liberal and socialist.

Actually, it’s about ethics in Abortion Rights Legislation

Most things are about fucking over women.

Or it's the equivalent of addressing climate change by banning state employees from using the phrase "climate change".

An extremely Catholic friend of mine once explained that hormonal birth control caused abortions because it prevented implantation. For her, preventing implantation of a fertilized egg was exactly the same as having an abortion (and consequently murdering a baby).

yea my "catholic-based" healthcare system OB/GYN would only insert Mirenas not paraguards because of religious views (Mirena can be inserted for "hormonal reasons" whereas the paraguard cannot because sperm is so special or something)

" within 24 weeks of pregnancy, or when necessary to protect her life or health"

Going undercover to a crisis pregnancy center seems like a fun job in some ways. (Obviously, not so fun for other reasons.) Am I nuts? I would sign up in a heartbeat. But I'm not sure I'd be able to keep my mouth shut when face-to-face with the bullshit.

Starring not because I think your experience is super awesome — I'm sorry that nature is pulling this shit on you — but starring cause I wish the world (i.e. conservatives) would realize that pregnancy is super freaking complicated and not some default, happy state for women. Sometimes its just down right dangerous.

All the contraceptive handouts I've read (and that's been a lot because I'm both interested and paranoid about getting pregnant) say that prevention of implantation or thinning of the uterine lining is a possible mechanism. I read somewhere* that's based on speculation during mechanistic research conducted decades

Oh, honey-your reproductive choices are none of her business.
