I completely disagree with you. The day Christians stop trying to cram their bullshit down our throats is the day ill stop mocking them.

Then why are you on the AVClub?

Ugh, God’s *still* not dead? What do you have to do kill this guy already?

Well, no, they aren’t mocking a religion. They’re mocking the fervor with which those people follow said religion.

I can’t take credit for this; ran across it somewhere:

But butterscotch pudding’s great. If you want to insult the movie, call it tapioca pudding.

There’s good (or at least, interesting) film-making, and there’s bad. There are good novels, and there are bad ones. There’s room in there for personal preference and experience, but some things are just crummy. The thing that makes The Shack bad isn’t that it’s faith-focused, it’s that the story is poor. Same with Fif

I think making fun of Christians is kind of easy, but I am VERY in favor of mocking and being disrespectful to everyone, across the board, so you have unfortunately made me team Katie Rife on this one.

That was Dennis Miller, ladies and gents

When Christians start living by the “don’t be a dick” creed, I will happily respond in kind.

So your argument is that only Christians are able to adequately review a Christian movie?

Upvoted for funny comment. I would upvote you again if I could for username-comment synergy.

Should Christian movies (and Ronald Reagan biopics) not be held to the same standards of cinematography, acting and pacing as other films?

Now playing

The movie is about a modern Christian rock song, and I think the headline is referring to a hit Christian song called “Jesus Freak,” so I feel like it’s more innocent than might be obvious. Like, “Jesus Freak” is a popular tshirt in the community

Yeah, when are Christians finally gonna get accepted in America?

I never had enough volume to justify $800 for my CD burner setup.

Video for Windows FTW!

I was going to suggest you lighten up, but upon reading your full comment, I realize you have some skin in the game when it comes the acceptability of stabbing annoying people.
