In a similar vein, Adventure Xpress by Pik Pok and Adult Swim is totally charming and playable without dropping a cent, and ads tend to be unobtrusive. It has some cool mechanics as well that let you drop a bit of strategy.

looks so much worse in motion than WB, there’s a lack of coherence between the bgs and the characters, the shadows look like skewed silhouettes of the sprites which is a cheap mobile game aesthetic and the actual animations lack good fluidity.

This is kind of a bummer month for me. I have to two big names here (tearaway and severed) and honestly had to force myself to finish tearaway (on vita). I thought it was gimmicky and some of the stuff that involved the back touch pad did not work great. Maybe lumo will be ok? It has pretty mediocre ratings.

Prob FF vii for the first time since I was 12. Just randomly loaded it up on vita and realized I remembered nothing after the initial train yard fight. I’ve been in clean up mode for the last year, trying to beat old game I never finished, like XY, Darksiders, and the first Dishonored.

Overall it looks really really nice, but I do wish that when people work on “low res” games, they would keep the graphics consistent. The effects are not the same resolution as the rest of the game. At least they used pixel fonts. That’s a pet peeve when I see an 8 bit or 16 bit style game with mega clean fonts.
