BlogtorDoom does make make an interesting point that the e-mail argument isn't fair. It's very possible that mail platforms can learn to imbed support. In g-mail you can attach youtube videos that can be played while still looking at the e-mail. That wasn't possible even 3 years ago.

Those were examples of what dedicated cores do. I'm not sure how 8 core processors are broken down.

So it's not really 8 general processing cores. Usually what these new chips do is they divide the tasks at the chip level. So one core is juuuust for the camera module. Another core is juuuust for the digitizer/touchscreen. So really I think only 2 or 4 cores are left for general purpose processing.
