Dan here.
You may think you can afford $2000/month in rent and you may think you’ll have enough left after eating and paying bills to spend $20k on a car, but you don’t KNOW that. Maybe the rent really isn’t affordable. Maybe the new job doesn’t work out.
Hi, Dan here.
Dan here.
Dan, here.
First two (three, if you count the plastic nipple that cracked in shipping) plastic radiators cracked. Replaced with a Zionsville all-aluminum unit two years ago. This time it was the expansion tank, which was… plastic. (There’s been a water pump, a valley pan and a water-cooled alternator in the mix, too…)
I’ve been considering the iM since the Jalop post the other day -- which was posted after I submitted my ‘what should I buy?’
Dan here. I’ve actually been looking for a TSX wagon (they cut that out of the submission)… but they’re so low on oomph.
I’ve borrowed a Fiesta (when the 540i/6's cooling system failed, most recently, this past Summer… never, ever buy a V8 BMW). I have shoes bigger than those cars. (I wear a size 12.5)
I am buying used. Never had a new car in my life (‘65 Mustang, ‘87 635CSi, ‘87 325iS, ‘03 540i/6).
For the moment, I’m driving a beat-up 1996 Civic a friend lent me. The 5er is technically fixed, but I don’t trust it.
Thank you.
Hi. Dan, here.
Durham’s Amtrak station is ½ mile to the left (east) of this bridge. Raising the bridge even a foot would require the track to be raised and regraded for miles and would shut down a major North-South passenger and freight route for an extended period of time.
He sounds like the kind of guy who has a van…
get yourself a house with private beach
I miss my E24 635CSi… but my wife said that it was either strap our soon-to-arrive second child to the roof, or get a ‘sensible’ E39 540i/6… looking back on it, five years later, I think my daughter would have enjoyed traveling in the great-outdoors.
A pro wouldn’t have been doing 70-100mph on a public road, passing cars over a double-yellow.
