Its much more new player friendly and solo friendly as well. They added the ability to summon npcs as party members, and leveling is way quicker so its possible to get to the meat much faster.

Surprisingly I got an email about FFXI and decided what the hell and made a new character in it. I haven’t played in over 10 years, and never got above level 35. Its practically a different game its so casual, and I couldn’t be happier.

The best answer. Skies of Arcadia is so underrated. Rudimentary base building and ship outfitting was a blast, the story and setting were great, and the characters were all fun if a bit cliched.

Are any of the RTSs on this list fast paced like C&C was? The red alert series is my favorite in the genre, and once that crashed and burned I haven’t found anything that scratched the same itch.
