I had the pleasure of driving a 992 Porsche 911 Carrera at a local driving experience event. A lot of hype surrounds the Porsche 911, so I had high expectations. I only got to drive for a few (fast) paced laps around a short track, but I immediately understood the appeal.

Honestly, my 2010 MazdaSpeed3 is/was plenty large enough for 99.9% of life.

Right... That’s pretty much what I’m saying, despite the article title indicating a tax on large vehicles instead of heavy vehicles. The tax proposal is based on weight though, not size.

Wouldn’t this work out to be just as much an EV tax as it is a heavy vehicle tax...? Small EV’s like the Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model 3, and Nissan Leaf all weigh just as much as the average midsize crossover.

Growing up, I rode in one of two cars... A moderately modified pickup truck or a Dodge Grand Caravan. For most my childhood, I didn’t grow up around cars that were all that interesting.

So if the answer isn’t increasing the weight limits, that would lead me to believe that the answer instead is to use two trucks to do the same job instead of just one truck.
