The Shark. Really, the old school BMW 6-Series was a simple grand tourer, fun to drive, and it just... looked rad, man. I almost feel guilty posting this car, because I don’t want other people to know how cool they are and drive up the prices on Bring A Trailer, but I’m willing to take the risk.

My wife’s grandmother fell and broke her hip on Monday. She’s 93 years old, and needed immediate surgery... but Houston hospitals didn’t have the ability to accomodate her. Their beds are full of COVID patients.

Now that the C8 Corvette exists, Acura basically had to turn the NSX into an electric car. There price gulf between the two is just... silly. Every one I found for sale is in the $140K range.

Alternatively, if you have been thinking about a stealth way to commit insurance fraud, now is the time to get things blazing in the garage.

Look y’all. I work in artificial intelligence and machine learning, on some of the most advanced systems in the world, on budgets that make Tesla look like a fart in the wind.

I can’t help but think maybe I am in the wrong business. I know it costs like a billion dollars to open a fab, but chip manufacturing seems to be the un-sexy... but also lucrative career move.

Oh yeah? Like the million robo-taxis? Or the Tesla Roadster? Or the semi-truck? Or the Hyperloop? Level 4 self driving? Or the Gigafactory producing 1GW annually? Or the 1,200 km range to the Model S?

You don’t want a convertible, eh? But you want something reliable, fun, and it needs a manual?

Wait a second. I’m 6'4". I have driven the old 370Z, and it was basically at the edge of my comfort level, but I would have still been comfortable daily driving one.

If I’m getting a 4-cylinder Supra... I’m getting a GR86. I still don’t get the small engine, aside from the BMW platform sharing. Yes, I know that the 90s Supra had a non-turbo option, but if you’re getting a Supra without the turbo V6, you’re doing it wrong.

All things being equal, let’s just assume the new Z will indeed start under $40,000 USD... let’s say it’s $39,499? Sure. But you probably won’t get a base-spec Z, because you’ll want about $5,000 in options. That’s $45,000. I’m sure the Nismo Z will be around $55,000 or more. I won’t be the person doing that, but I

Who needs Botox when you can shift your entire face back with a car?

Neutral: I’m doing great today. I just got back from my week-long vacation, and I had a great time.

What we uncovered here is actually the groundwork for the next generation Z06: Duramax. Powered by a new 3.0 liter turbodiesel, the mid-engine Corvette C8 will have a stump-ripping 800 lb-ft of torque, and redline at 3,600 RPM.

You can be a tasteless rapper who spends $2M on a Bugatti, or you can be someone who understands engineering and the art of fine craftsmanship... and get a Singer.

That’s really where I am. At the end of the day, most of the cars I want can be had for less than $25,000. Nicely used (driver) S2000? Around $25,000. Nicely kept BMW 635CSi from the 80s? Around $15-18K. Maybe I want an off-roader? 90s Tacoma, with some “stuff.”

I think that this is reasonable, compared to the Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT, and the Panamera Turbo. If you’re in the market for a four-door rocket, and you can spend north of $120,000, this seems to be right where it needs to be. (I guess the BMW M5 is also technically in the same territory, since it’s 600+

The movie car thing probably doesn’t do much for me, but I love the idea of owning a Superformance GT40 replica. I think it was the Gran Turismo 4 that officially bit me, because of course it was a video game. It’s a cool car, but I think the “movie car tax” would probably push it higher than it needs to be.

Well, I was on payroll here, during the Patrick George era.

I’m not pointing any fingers at anyone about ED. I’m not putting that kind of karma in my world. I’m too deep into my 30s to think about having that doorknob hit me in the ass.
