The article is full of holes and half-assessments. It’s easy to check that, as the intro mentions immediately François Truffaut after Godard, as if it were the right thing to do. Mississippi’s Mermaid is a minor entry and, seriously, one of the worst films Truffaut ever directed. While working on this movie, he

Justice League: Sea Of Poop made it further in the title selection process than you’d think

It’s easy to dismiss her as if her last movie is all she’s ever done.

For a substantial segment of the population, the drawbacks of seeing a movie in the theater outweighed the advantages, pre-pandemic. First of all about 10 years ago I stopped going to any theater at all where I couldn’t reserve seats. Then there’s travel, cost, the random chance that someone sitting near me is some

Its blow.

So I am 23 seconds in and what is fascinating to me is that he is clearly, genuinely, proud of that accent. Like, he worked on it, or maybe he feels he has a natural gift, and I think on some level he wants some recognition, some praise for doing such a good job (in his mind) with that accent.

There’s no need to be that barbaric. Let him finish his dessert first.

I think she’s a really good actress! Looks like her next project is playing Mary Hartman in a ‘Mary Hartman, Mary Harman’ remake, so hopefully that ends up being better than it sounds.

The minimal, if any, improvement is just proving how goddamn talented the original stop-motion animators were. The originals are fine.

Someone once suggested Paul F. Tompkins for host. We need to amplify this worldview as much as humanly possible.

Just. Don’t. Tweet. That’s the main lesson here. There is literally no upside to using Twitter in 2021.

Your response is a not unexpected nerd response: one that’s wholly unoriginal, that makes no points and, because of that, instead resorts to attacking both the style of the the argument and myself instead of trying to refute.

I still don’t get the need for directors to keep giving this incredibly lukewarm take. Yeah it sucks that the movie you made, a labor of love, didn’t get a full theatrical run. But also...cope. It’s not personal. It’s the result of a global pandemic that has killed ~4.5 million people (so far).

It’s an interesting tale. Kind of low-rent Hollywood redux. Nobody really gave a shit about Ron unless he was making him money that day , but they cared even less about all the women he allegedly abused (and, it should go without saying, they cared about those women the least when Ron was making them money that day.)

They’ll suck on vape pens all day long but they won’t get a shot “because we don’t know what’s in it”.

It’s extremely hard for me to watch. It’s just a black screen that says “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.”

That story doesn’t track either because no one in Ireland is ever embarrassed about being too drunk
