Lyft is as shady as Uber is - I started with Lyft, drove both, and quit Lyft first.  I don’t understand at all why Lyft gets the pass, other than being the smaller potato.

Because as a private contractor, these driver’s decide for themselves if they want to provide their services through the app. But when they rely on the app as their only way to make a living, they basically whore themselves out to the lowest bidder. And if Uber can increase profits and the driver’s keep turning on

They should also forward their resumes so that you guys can help them find a better place of employment since you’re all so concerned about the drivers.

Where I’m at in North Georgia, you’d be hard pressed to find a neighborhood in any semi-populated area that doesn’t have one.

That is creepy.

“Let’s use an organization tasked with killing people and breaking things to fix roads” is the kind of genius take that gets you suspended for 6 years, Bevo’s Buddy.

I tip, I even feel bad about giving a lower tip when there’s terrible service, but I will never in my fucking life tip at a takeout counter or counter in general. If I get delivery, you get a tip, if you are serving my table you get a tip. That’s it.

salaries have not risen with inflation”

I’m a generous restaurant / delivery / nail salon tipper, but I absolutely do not tip at the coffee shop for ringing me up for my coffee.  That. Is. The. Job.  I really don’t get it.  What’s the difference between my tipping at the coffee shop and me tipping the grocery store checkout person from ringing up my

I feel nothing but anger when I get a tip request at a takeout counter...NO, I will not tip you more than 15% for putting my burrito bowl together in a food assembly line. I get the waiter thing. Fine, but this Tip me for the 5 second interaction we just had without eye contact is unacceptable. I have encountered this

I am stuck in 2008 tipping 15% for good service. Inflation should take care of the cost of living raises for wait staff. Upping the percentage too seems like double dipping.

They can unionize and go on strike. I’m not making up the difference for a greedy corporation. I’m not digging deep or tightening my fucking belt to support a bad system. YOU, encouraging people to do this, are part of the problem.

Agreed. It’s a travesty that America (and pretty much uniquely America) evolved to the point where customers are expected to pay the worker’s wages since employers are legally allowed to underpay them. It’s not a tip if it’s required. Why don’t you up your prices and just pay your employees a living wage directly?

no. 20% is an extremely generous tip. Call me a fucking jerk all you want. Tipping is stupid and sexist, and we should be pushing for a change that sees servers paid a fair wage and doesn’t put customers in that awkward situation of tipping. IT DOES NOT CREATE BETTER SERVICE. And you know what? The 2% they’re shorted

I totally disagree. I can do all those things over a multi week period with countless breaks in between. 2 push-ups in the morn. 1 sit up just around lunchtime. You get my drift.

I can see the manager saying to the lot kid, “See that car over there that’s on fire? I need you to get in it and drive it outside to that giant tub of water”.

It sounds like Boeing knew this design was potentially faulty so they used two sensors for input. Then they promptly ignored those concerns and only used input from one sensor.

It seems that it would be obvious to a human pilot if the automated system was receiving faulty sensor data, since it would be easy to see the

The grapevine? Fuck I can click up to 100 easy going past Camp Pendleton, and thats following other cars.

Holy fuck. The 5 already feels like Talladega when you get over the grapevine. Do you know how many Escalades are going to want to do +120mph?
