I love Speed Racer. The only thing I dislike about it, is the Chim-Chim/Spritle stuff.

That's actually a great analogy. I don't care how "realistic" a movie is - I care how consistent it is to whatever reality the film maker chooses to create.

Depends on the Marvel film. The Cap trilogy has far more muted colours than, say, Guardians of the Galaxy.

And there's that, too. Though even if the facts remain consistent, I just wasn't in the mood to hear it - or the pontificating about Washington partisanship.

Is this an assassination joke? Today, of all days?

I'm glad to hear it, and I hope Scalise pulls through - his wife and kids must be mortified. I have precisely zero interest in all of the finger wagging that goes on when these events happen, unless someone was literally calling specifically for violence. Some asshole had his brain fried by politics, and did

He's certainly a bigot, but his bigotry is just one of the outcomes of how fundamentally shallow and intellectually un-curious he is. It's just an outward facing symptom of the man I described above.

I don't think Trump has had a single deep thought in his entire life about the healthcare system. I mean that as a factual statement.

He's a huckster at his core. It clearly penetrated his personal bubble that the House bill is hugely unpopular, so his brilliant solution is to "put more money into the bill" (almost literally his words).

He's an American late night comedian, not a Russian tour guide.

If you want to do journalistic due diligence and challenge him on his odious nonsense and lies? Sure, bring him on your TV show. Like it or not, the guy has a following - a following that includes the current POTUS. You don't win by sticking your fingers in your proverbial ears, and asking the media to pretend

This is funny, but make no mistake: Chuck Schumer is a different (and obviously far lesser) form of asshole. He's exactly the kind of craven corporatist technocrat who swears fealty to all of the usual beltway altars, and most genuine liberals spend most of their time shaking their fist at, when there aren't

The reveal trailer for this game is amazing. It's completely fucking bananas. I was 100% sold when the dude takes a hit of acid, then starts trying to calm down his imaginary 1930s cartoon animal friend.

In any case that is primarily the credibility of one person's testimony against another, doesn't calling the alleged victim a liar kind-of come with the territory, if you're the defense attorney?

The RedLetterMedia guys have a review up for this pile of trash, that goes into detail about how it was clearly, and cynically, tailor-made to appeal to the overseas market. Alex Kurtzman (half of Kurtzman & Orci, one of the worst writing duos in Hollywood right now) was a perfect choice for it.

The right-wing griftopia has lots of them.

Move is still a loooong way off, so effects shots are almost certainly not finished yet.

Chopra is next-level. If there was an award for "Most Mendacious Hack in the Field of Religion and Spirituality", it'd be named in honour of him. Aslan would just be a frequent nominee.

Interesting idea. Here to discuss it with me on the panel, is Jeffrey Lord, Alan Dershowitz, and Sean Penn.

I disagree with the decision to let him go for this, but I also think Aslan is one of the worst, most mendacious hacks currently grifting the field of "religion and spirituality" - so I'm conflicted.
