The problem was they didn't have stretch goals, just generic 'we'll give you more game'. Had they actually had stretch goals, they'd be stuck to those and Schafer wouldn't have been able to go crazy on his designs.

I think the sentiment is more that the games media as a whole, not just Kotaku, seems to be posting a lot of response articles with lines like "The Xbox One can block used games, but that will be on a publisher-by-publisher basis."

Microsoft lost control of their messaging because their original message was such bullshit that they have been trying to twist and contort their policies into something that doesn't sound repulsive to consumers.

I agree completely. The high and low positioning of the sword and shield made it feel like you're really parrying with your opponent instead of just sticking your sword out and mowing everything down. And the music is awesome. This needs a sequel/remake.
